There are plenty of stories about kids doing stupid things and getting in trouble. Here is a story about a high school wrestler who was taking a nap to help ward of pre-match nervousness. When no one showed up to sing the national anthem, one of his buddies woke him up and asked him if he would do it. In one of the sites covering the story, Isaac Bryant talked about being a little sleep-groggy as he accepted the invitation but I think he did a pretty remarkable job to come in unrehearsed and pull it off.
As some one with a personal and family history of military service, I also appreciate his tip of the hat to those who have served.
