This came across my news feed from Awful Announcing
According to the 68-page agreement obtained by The Athletic's Matt Baker, ACC schools will now have what is formally known as an "option of limited withdrawal" that allows six or more member institutions to disassociate from the conference in a specific sport to join a "single sport league, conference or other association" along with other schools in the group. Should a group of ACC schools exercise this option, they'd each owe $75 million or 50% of the current withdrawal fee to the conference (whichever is greater).
It would seem that if some P2 teams finally decide to break away into a 48 or 60 team super conference for football, we could get out with a $75 fee. Now VT just needs the invitation...

Sweet, I'll pay it!!

Still takes 6 or more schools to be headed to a single super league which was about what they needed to overturn the GoR completely and they couldn't manage it.
2030 seems to be the focus as that's when SEC is up for TV renewal. By then I believe the buyout is down to just over $100M. Teams will pay that to leave if they know they are getting SEC money. It would take 3-4 years to recoup.
If 6 schools are being poached, we would be included, so this is actually a good thing for us
hopefully.... FSU, Clemson, Miami are the definites ... then UNC under the extremely likely .... then probably GT, Louisville, NC State, UVA, and VT in the "how are things looking now and what does the superleague want"
Six OR MORE. It will be stupid but preferred when there are 60 teams in the Super League and they split it into four or five divisions by geography.
You think refs appear biased now, just wait til we only compete in the ACC in non-football sports.
Depends on who goes and who doesn't, if UNC and Duke go then the refs will be their same terrible selves
UVA, UNC, Duke, Cuse, and ND to break away and form ELITE lacrosse league. It just means more, brah.
You even lax, brah?
One of my good buddies in high school, who was also an enormous lax bro, taught me the term lax lettuce. Similar to your flow - the long hair coming out of the back of your helmet. He would come up and wave his flow and be like, "boy, flick yo lettuce!"
I want the Lettuce League.

I don't think they'd lettuce be part of it, though.
