Virginia Tech added its second verbal commitment on Saturday when wide receiver Sean Savoy pledged to the Hokies. Savoy confirmed his decision with The Key Play. The 5-9, 180 pound burner joins Bryce Thompson as spoils of the "Blacksburg Bash".

"(Justin Fuente) was just real open minded, telling me about what he believed the program could be when he gets everything in place," Savoy told The Key Play in March following a February visit to Blacksburg. "It was good, especially knowing his background. Everywhere he's gone, he's had top offenses, so you know he can do it."

The Hokies continue to address their need at wide receiver on the recruiting trail.

"(WRs coach Holmon Wiggins) said he's got two star receivers, but by the time I get there they're gonna be gone, so I could get a spot, but I'd have to earn it," Savoy told The Key Play after attending Tech's spring game. "It's not gonna be easy, I just have to go out there and work hard."

Savoy joins Hezekiah Grimsley and Kalil Pimpleton as wideout commits in Tech's 2017 class. Caleb Farley and Malik Willis could also transition to WR.

"Lane Stadium is real, it's really what everybody talks about," Savoy added about his spring game visit. "Hokie Nation is real. The way the fans support Tech is crazy. The game was just great, they had people out there tailgating at 6 o'clock in the morning."

The Woodrow Wilson (Washington, DC) product chose Virginia Tech over Miami, Penn State, and other Power Five offers. The 247Sports Composite rates Savoy as a 3-star recruit.
