Excuse me fine Sir, but I differ in opinion with how that play was officiated.

Was Kumah trying to carry the defender in one arm and the ball in the other?

If he had another second I think he would have picked him up.

Bold strategy Cotton

If anyone could/would, he would! And we all loved even the attempt.

Another sweet Monday morning.

I didn't get to watch the game can someone explain how that last TD happened. Why is everyone but Holstein and Willis piles up at the line?

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

D thought they had him wrapped up and he bounced out and kept going. And Willis has some wheels.

and Jalen is not very fast...

I like to think (and hope) that Holston was just jogging into the endzone because the defense was mostly around the pile. And Willis was running at a full sprint.

Yeah, it really did look like Holston was taking a leisurely trot for 30 yards.

I've seen him run faster in previous games.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Don't forget the play where Willis ran down the interception. He had Wheels then!

i hear he's a sneaky athlete

Holsten ran into the pile, backpedaled til the defenders were on the ground, and had open field in front of him. Great footwork to keep from going down.

Willis failed to read the DE on the run option. Holston ran into the line but pretty much everybody there tackled each other except for Holston. Willis carried out his fake. Holston bounced off the end and took off. Willis ran down the field with him once he realized Holston wasn't tackled for no gain due to bad play-calling.

Touchdown! Hokies!

... due to bad play-calling.

It's one or the other Willis made the wrong read (which would mean that he's running to a wide open field, so a great play call and execution) or there was bad play-calling (but if this is your option, you need to justify it, since the play appeared to be wide open).

A lot of times the RB gets tackled at the line of scrimmage, and there are some folks on here who call it bad play-calling when it's the QB misreading the DE on those plays. See Orion86's comment for the joke.

Those two things aren't mutually exclusive.

bad play calling? Willis was just running the read option and made a bad read.

wait... Willis was running the read option... I think I understand now.

Holston spun out of a busted play and the Marshall defense got caught looking to see if the bus was warmed up yet.

Leonard. Duh.

Holston didn't get wrapped up, "Money Maker" kept up with Holston down the field to the end zone, 6 points were given to the maroon team for touching the colored box at the end of the field.

Marshall did a fair job of grabbing his leg for the wrap up. Holston just realized it was his best chance to get a TD and ripped his leg out of the Marshall's players grasp.

This season has been a ride! But what a finish! Visual Representation of me after this season that won't embed but is worth the click.

I'm really disappointed to not see Quillen stepping in front of the Marshall player to catch the punt in here.. That might've been the funniest thing I had seen all season

Hahahah wtf was that

Saw the exact same penalty in the Texas-Oklahoma game. I don't recall ever seeing it before, then twice in one weekend.

Right?? I was laughing about how I'd never that happen before during the Tech game, and then like half an hour later someone does the exact same thing in another game.

3 times. UGA did it in the SEC Champ game too. Crazy weekend.

Someone was trolling on the "Special Teams Insider" weekly email.

I actually saw all 3 during the games. The one against UGA was questionable since the Bama player ran over to him while he was catching it.

I've had to call that in a high school game before. Definitely doesn't make one popular with the coaches and fans.

I used to do that all the time in NCAA Football 201X ( not 14 but dont remember the year).

I think Willis has a lot of room for improvement, but the dude plays with a ton of fire and emotion. Did not realize that TD throw to Tre was from the 50. That was a big time throw that required some awkward foot work. Also, he ran step for step with a DI running back on the last TD.

Made it even more sweet when a Marshall fan screamed "hit that motherfucker" 2 seconds before Ryan launched that ball.

I have been hard on Willis this year but his footwork in the pocket, or slightly out of the pocket, was exceptional in this game. He may indeed prove me wrong about his potential for next year. But, if QP is going to be what we think, it may be hard to keep him out of the huddle in 2019. JJ still isn't ruled out either. Hooker may be on the outside looking in. Good problems to have.

Some of Willis' best pure QB plays were made in this game.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

The PTSD from the 0-12 Kansas season is starting to wear off...thankfully.

I love the smell of Giftory in the morning!

So good...
BTW, when did the bad guy from Judge Dredd start coaching football?

Now that is a couple of fine actors. Get Antonio Banderas and Benitio del Toro with those two and have an elocution contest....it might go on for a while.

Gotta love that official giving salt right back to Doc.

Indeed. I imagine him talking in late 40's lingo to Doc Watson.

If Walker is a cowbell, we definitely want more cowbell.

The captioning makes it even better.

Rewatched last night with a hokie that had to work Saturday. Missed the Peoples Plant both times. Can't stop watching it now.

Kumah is the best

I wasn't able to watch the game, but saw some highlights. Willis can make some pretty impressive, right-on-the-money type throws

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

I like how in that first gif that #58 totally whiffs on the help/chip block on Slick, and then just turns back to the front to make sure he isn't in the frame when the QB gets sacked.

Also, Willis is just showing off his wheels on that last one. Yeah, I know I handed it off to you, but now, I'm gonna run past you and be your lead blocker. That's David Wilson stuff there!

I got the willis to tre TD the whole play from start to finish on my snapchat! and a pretty good view from the 50 yrd line about 2 rows up! wish all games were gen admin lol. the fog made the scene kinda weird but awesome.

#Bapn ain't EZ

Wanna win put boobie in! Let boobie spin coach!

Good going for being there. Loved gen admin as we were on the 4th row 45 yd line and the stadium lit gif shows my son holding his 2 white sleeved arms in the air before doing the mandatory fingers through hair move. (I've lost my hair so that's envy talking.) Son's a senior at VT so this was his last home game and to be able to sit with us for the first time this season was special. Also brought along brother-in-law, nephew and niece as Lane 1st timers and despite the weather and low attendance they had a great time. They now know why their uncle and aunt went to 10 games during this crazy year of ups and downs.

“I'm addicted to placebos. I could quit, but it wouldn't matter”~steven wright

I guess Bryce Watts won't be getting on a plane any time soon.

I love the symmetry of Kumah wearing #83 and getting up and roaring while the two Marshall defenders who are face planted were wearing #3 and #8

edited for some embarrassing grammar

I noticed Quillen miss Stout's high-five request live, thought it was funny, and then saw Stout high-five himself and thought it was even more funny. Hilarious that they accidentally captured that moment so perfectly in the live broadcast.

And I've had to come back here during every short work break today, because Monday's are better with Giftory!

Dax had a nice hit on a kick return.

I, along with many other Marshall students had a great time this weekend. From Center Street before the game to jumping to Enter Sandman during the game to downtown after the game, Blacksburg is an amazing college town. I am looking forward to the opportunity to attend grad school at Virginia Tech.

Center St apts baby, #11 for life!

Lived across the hall for 6 years

I'm assuming this is slang for 'lived across the parking lot'?

Either way, 6 year super senior, nice!

Ah, missed the exact location. I also lived *on* center street, across from a different #11.

And 5 years of undergrad and 1 more of grad school will really get after ya.

No matter, Center St family for life!

The only way to improve the last gif would be for Mega Jesus to sprint past both Holston and Willis.

I still keep watching that last gif of Willis following the run. It looks like Holston did slow down around the 10. but Willis was still outpacing him at that point. Do we have a recent recorded timing in the 40 for Willis?
