Hindsight is always 20-20
But looking back, it's still a bit fuzzy
For those who recognize this, you're welcome for the earworm. ;^)
(edit: i'm aware there is currently no CFB showcase there....yet.....)
The southern end got moved to charlotte, they should move the north end to green bay (edit: i'm aware there is currently no CFB showcase there)
It's got to be a TV thing, right? Being in a nationally televised (for sure) game against a big opponent gives us a guaranteed TV audience that will boost our ratings for revenue sharing purposes. Can't imagine that Wisconsin said that either it was in Charlotte or they were pulling out. It'll still be effectively a home crowd for Tech presumably.
Not pleased that a home and home went to a neutral site and their home. I am fine with changing this to a neutral site and canceling their home game.
Worth the long round trip? Nah. Wouldn't take free tickets this year.
AI conference patch looks like the SEC, AI confirms VT-> SEC
Maybe stay away from any avatar of the coach.
Didn't work out so well last time.
If things go poorly
?
If I lived in the area, I'd be happy to go for the tailgate but then just go home once the game started.

My big question for the future is what Avatar am I going to use now that the fresh hired Pry with mutton chops and digitally added protruding Wolverine claws isn't applicable.
I'd say that the way this would go for Pry was pretty obvious from the start.
Most telling moment for me was early in his tenure. I went up to Chapel Hill for the Carolina game. The body language and how the team and staff looked on the sideline did not at all resemble a team trying to get better and compete. It looked like a team who knew they were going to get beat and didn't know how to respond. The staff was totally passive, not teaching, not trying to energize the team. It's like they had penciled in a loss and were waiting until they had better players to try and win
I can sit corrected on #3. I still don't want him.

There was ALWAYS a decent chance that this was the way things were going to go.
I'm OK with it if it helps to ensure the game actually happens.
The timing is optimal if VT manages to get a good coach.

I dont care if the fans from the south end zone are suiting up for vt by then. When VT takes the football field against loluva they will always have a chance.
Yes, it might be easier to attract him to that position, and all your points are valid. But I, along with bar1990, are really really tired of trying to shoehorn these former players into coaching positions merely because they played here during the best years in VT football history. Now, GM isn't a coaching position, and King has a stellar resume. I'm just so tired of the "coming home" narrative and the mom and pop, family business schtick. I don't want "This is Home." I want "This is The Terrordome. We'll kill you."
Hopefully there is a payout to playing in Charlotte that come close to the profit we would make after a big home game. The town of Blacksburg and the students that can't afford the travel and accommodations are getting screwed here. We can still schedule another home game now. but probably not going to be the draw that Wisky would be.
Let's go old like UNC and hire Jimmy Johnson. The guy is as serious as one can get. Holds standards, garners respect, won SB's, and won NC at Da U when all the tomfoolery of NIL was absolutely happening under the table. Meaning, he knows how to leverage money to get the players and win.

No one should. He'd be a disaster.
