My thing with Hilgart was, the players looked physically good with all those before and after photos, but they did not do much lower body at all which is critical for football. And we seemed to focus more on being lean and fast over strong and explosive, which I would argue is also critical for being in football shape. There wasn't much applied strength, it was just gym numbers as you mentioned. I think we got very soft in that regard.
It's not as much about endurance like a track race or soccer match but being able to do extremely explosive movements in short bursts repetitively. That I feel like was our MO back in the day - we may not have been the most athletic or fastest team every time we lined up, but our guys were strong and tough, and you as the opponent were going to leave bruised and sore, win lose or draw each game.
zero doubt. they have already sued for retroactive NIL- as fucked up as that is- and WON.
It's only a matter of time until some recently graduated players that are still in playing shape file suit to retroactively add eligibility back

Correct- Ray Lewis - at minimum was inside the same limo where someone was stabbed to death.... at the NFL's biggest event no less... Leonard Little had a BAC twice the legal limit and plowed over an innocent woman. Both played many years in the NFL after that. I will say that I really miss the days when you had these guys for 3-4 years (sometimes more) and got to know them. Not anyone's fault except the portal but that toothpaste is not going back into the tube.

Essentially, Diego wasn't good enough to even get a sniff as a D1 prospect out of highschool. Because of that, he apparently deserves to extend his eligibility because his own lack of talent/size/ability "limited his NIL potential."
He deserves plenty of credit for the effort and work he has done to make himself a D1 QB. He has been rewarded for that-by Vanderbilt. He has options to continue to play football (probably UFL or Canada) so denying him further eligibility does not limit his ability to continue to make money (albeit likely less) playing football.

I have only watched the first two episodes so far, but I plan to catch up tonight.
The NFL- the untouchable behemoth that takes your money for 1. Cable or streaming local channels on Sunday. 2. Some type of EPSN package for Monday night. 3. Amazon subscription for thursday nights 4. NFL network package to see the brilliant London and German games 5. Netflix subscription to watch late season and playoff games... and 6. In your lifetime the Super Bowl will be pay per view- and one of them likely not played in the United States. The point I am making is that pesky fucking soccer fields and anything else really won't stand in their way if the Redskins want to build a 2.5 billion dollar retractable roof stadium at RFK.
you'd think, but we have yet to see that actually bear out on NSD. the whole "this actually is home and i never should have gone anywhere else" line sounds nice but until we see the APRs and the Gilliams of the world start turning into landing the Ari Watfords (and Chris Coles, and Shamari Earls, etc etc etc) to start their collegiate career here, i'm skeptical of it actually turning into anything other than "we worked the connections and got some good players from the portal"
The only reason I give this longer than a week is because I'm sure most lawyers and judges won't be working much, if at all, next week with the holidays.
