I interpret stars as a measure of how likely it is that a given player will be a strong contributor (2+ years starting). IMO:
- 5 star = 85-90% chance player will be a starter and dynamic contributor for at least 2 years of his college career
- 4 star = 70-80% chance player will be a starter and dynamic contributor for at least 2 years of his college career
- 3 star = ~50% chance player will be a starter and contributor for at least 2 years of his college career
- 2 star = ~20% chance player will be a starter and contributor for at least 2 years of his college career
- Walk on = ~10% chance player will be a starter and contributor for at least 2 years of his college career

They just ignored over the back while it was going on.
