I exist only in your imagination.
The plan is in effect, make those kids LOVE TECH thus dad won't leave.
Edit: what airport is that? Did they fly commercial?
UGA Insider is reporting that Tom Herman has agreed in principal to become UGA's next head coach. Could just be rumors for now, but worth watching.
If true, this means the UGA administration had been working on this for a while possibly.
EDIT: Looks like people have been saying where this info came up from is totally fake, so probably not real.
So: #sauces people, they get after you
Smile, Daddy just more than doubled his income!!
Has he officially been let go yet? What would Fuente bring him on as? QB or RB coOC?
Being a moderator, I imagine you don't have many obligations on the regular. I'm sure you do, but that's how it plays out in my mind.
I think Wiggins moves to RB, his college position and first two jobs, Burden stays at WR.
We are paying $500k to Memphis for Fuente's contract, so you can add that in.
I like how they just gave his daughters a ridiculous amount of Hokie Swag right off the bat.
The arrival ...

I find it interesting how short of a memory some VT fans of this coaching methodology.
Remember when we decided to overhaul the offense, yet our OC didn't get to really pick any of his staff? He had Stiney and Shane to work with, then I believe VT picked up Moorehead beforehand, and Lefty only picked Grimes, who then left. If anything, I would say this process had a lot to do with Lefty's downfall.
If the new coach wanted to clear house, I would be fine with it. I feel like that is why we hire them. I'm glad he kept Bud, because I think the defense is already strong, plus Bud can help Fuente with the culture and what not. But if Fuente felt that his DC was better, then I would initially be fine with his decision to let Bud go.
I'm not sure what capacity Shane is at the moment, but it sounds like from the rumors, he isn't staying. I'm sure Fuente has a plan with him, as some have speculated, ST or some other position outside of the offense.
I get that Lefty is a good QB coach, but what's not to say that Fuente won't be pulling the same if not better QB's? He seemed to be pretty good in the past, and now he has a strong team to help convince these kids.
Anyway, I know it sucks, as sometimes we let the feels get into the way (but I really like that guy and he should stay), but that's not how it works.
You have to set up the coach to succeed by allowing him to choose his staff.
I think foster knew it would look bitter and in poor taste to stomp out on the program. It's no secret that he wants to be a head coach. The correct move on his part was to stick around if he's wanted until he gets the opportunity he deserves (also, he's entitled to a salary through 2019"). I don't think there was any "Whit magic" involved. Just common sense on Buds part.
That I did, and it'll be interesting to see what we are paying him, as I said we would go as high as around $4m to $5m, but I wasn't banking on keeping Foster. Would not be surprised if the combined salaries of the 2 is around $4.5m or so.
That said, what I meant was, sitting in the early part of year 2 under James Johnson and Jim Weaver still at AD, who would have thought we would be here now. I certainly didn't. The hiring of Whit literally changed everything about this program in a very good way.
I posted this on another thread, but it s worth noting here......
coachingsearch.com is reporting:
"Virginia Tech: Memphis wide receivers coach Holman Wiggins and tight ends coach / special teams coordinator James Shibest will follow Justin Fuente to Virginia Tech, according to Rivals.com's Memphis site."
Dickey is the interim head coach at Memphis so don't think he is coming.
Pretty much camping out here and on Twitter all day today. Walking Dead marathon, VT coaching news, and pretty much no other obligations for the day!
damn you are fast posting that.
From henceforth that name is banished from this site unless one is making fun of how bad his team is doing.
After all the negative recruiting they did on Frank for being old, this would interesting to watch.
But why would he want to start over like that? Talk about penthouse to outhouse
Kind of rude for them to include that in the final cut...
So if Cornelson comes, he'd be QB coach. And Dickey could still come, he's RB coach.
oh yeah, i was keeping the rhyme going.
Fuente and Loeffler have some pretty different ideas on how to structure an offense. I don't think it's a great fit from that stand point.
Could Loeffler adopt Fuente's system and be effective? Almost certainly, I think Loeffler is a really smart football guy. But, it wouldn't be an seamless transition. I'd rather Fuente bring in his guys that know his system and how he likes to do things.

to add to the, here is an ice quote:
There were a lot of opportunities that came across our desk. We didn't mess with any of them except for this one," he said. "We asked a lot of questions and did what I said we'd do all along, and that's take in all the information, sit down and try to make the best decision possible. Whatever decision we made, we'd wake up every morning and make it work.
This guy is becoming more of a perfect fit I think.
The Fuente family has arrived.

I assumed Fuente was going to hire Mike O'Cain as QB coach
