The smaller, faster defenses are more due to the recent prevalence of spread offenses running the hurry-up. Not many teams are running traditional power running football anymore, so size is generally less important. I don't think anyone is surprised that Bud noticed this first though.

Our coaching staff butchered his future, I feel nothing but pity for Thomas.
Thurst into the QB position and having to carry the offense his last 2 years, getting much more hate than he deserved. He gave everything to the team, and his NFL future is extremely bleak right now because of it.
Say what you will but switching positions isn't as easy as people are saying. He hasn't been a TE for 4+ years. I hope someone picks him up and finally uses the talent he has.
