The fact that I don't think anyone would have ever written that last sentence before last night is the reason I continued to make that argument. Even Luck has had guys bail him out from time to time. Plus, how often do you think his TEs (not the receivers, I swear most of them had trampolines for hands) dropped easily-catchable passes? I'm not saying Thomas should win the Heisman or anything (clearly, that needs to be AJ Hughes), but if he plays for FSU, we're not even having this discussion.
All that said, I was extremely happy to see players just flat-out making plays last night. It was fun to watch and I hope it continues through this year and into the future.
UVA will have Brent Urban back for that game, so they will be better than they looked versus UNC. I have no idea on Maryland other than Marcus Whitfield is one of the ACC leaders in sacks with 7.5
Actually, UVA's D-line is probably the strength of their team. Harold is a very good DE and IIRC, they also have at least one solid DT as well.
I'm one who thinks the 'LT has no help' card is overplayed - Andrew Luck turns the Jags into a playoff team. If you want to be a great QB, you make your help better, and LT can struggle at leading his receives, locating the ball where they can make a play, and some other nuanced elements of the position.
All that being said, one thing that's been sorely missing this year is PLAYERS MAKING PLAYS. Beating the defender even when he beats his block; slipping a tackle, then a second, then a third.
Last night, Trey Edmunds and Josh Stanford in particular just flat-out made plays. Great to see.
Thanks. I pretty much blurted it out after his run against Bama, but haven't been able to use it much until last night when the coaches finally tried to make him a specific part of the gameplan. He's a stud.
The Endzone that is...
This is the most LA thing I've eve seen. Seriously, why are you wearing sun glasses at an indoor basketball game?
I also like that he's wearing a Dwight Howard jersey. How'd that work out for ya Laker fans? Huh?
Here's the question I have not yet researched.
How are the defensive lines for Md and UVA? Well, I can guess UVA.
If our O line can rule the day like they did last night, we'll beat MD with our Offense.
...and Duke loses. The only time in my life that I will root for Miami will be next week.
Yea, I remember that botched punt that he ran into a 1st down
You speak the truth my man. I think its hilarious though, they'll probably finish ranked (unless they royal eff up like they've almost done multiple times this year) and still not play in the ACCCG, while we waltz down to Charlotte. Of course we gotta give MD and LOLUVA the business first.
I think he would have taken a knee if he got the first and didn't score. I can't remember what game but he has done that before. Ultimate sportsmanship.
I'm not sure that is what is being said. The offense as a whole those two games was good except for the turnovers.
I think it's sad how so many people are undervaluing the rest of the team. Kids are playing their nuts off, and people want to only credit Logan. They may be young, but without Byrne, Kline, Sanford, JC, trey, Rogers, and of course the line, you got nothing.

I applaud CFB's faith in LT by calling the timeout when his helmet came off to keep him in the game...but I'm not going to lie, I was kind of excited to see what Leal would do. I immediately thought of the game against Miami where Thomas came in for Taylor in a similar situation and connected on a beautiful pass across the middle to get a first down on 3rd and long.
I like how much confidence CFB has in Thomas but at the same time I wonder what that move does for Leal's confidence. I would really like to see Leal play in the second half of blowout victories over UMD and LOLUVA
Great performance by LT, but I think the running game really helped him out. It was nice to see SL call more than 12 running plays (not read options) to the RBs and I think the RB's really helped open things up for Thomas. The line did a great job of keeping him on his feet too and I don't think Thomas ever got uncomfortable. I think if Thomas can find a groove early and stay off his back he's really dangerous. I like his chances for the next 2 games.
That's awesome. There are still so many parts of the U.S. I haven't seen, what better way than to visit over 120 college stadiums?
I certainly agree. Their "quality" win was over a pathetic Florida team that gave Miami the game via 5 turnovers. After heart-attack wins over WFU and UNC, we pummeled them and exposed them as frauds. More overrated than we were at #14.
I'm honestly surprised, I thought they would've been dropped for sure...they didn't look good at all in either of their losses, and their wins are not impressive
I never did bite on the Leal over Thomas discussion.
I don't think the coaches did either.
I think the coaches are aware of some things that we are not.
For instance, why did the O line suddenly play like a world class O line last night? That had to have Thomas much more relaxed, he could actually step into throws.
The O line was really the difference in the Offense last night. Edmunds going into TD untouched?
(Sung to the tune of thigh bone's connected to the hip bone song)
the O line is connected to the running game.
The running game is connected to the passing game.
The passing game is connected to the QB's game.
Absolutely, Leal should start. That is, start getting ready for 2014 to pick up where Logan left off.
I'll have to check it out.
I'm really disappointed that I won't be able to make it to this one :(
I hope everyone has a great time and that there are plenty of donations for a great cause.
Go Hokies!

I don't think Miami came out flat. They started out hot.
I think they way it started, we came out too far up and was overextending. (helped by a few uncalled illegal blocks)
A few key guys kept us in the game on ST and the offense was tuned in.
Miami plummets to #24 in the latest AP poll.

If he can tackle, he should start on kick off and punt coverage!
