Leaders

This just came to my mind and I thought I should point it out. We're all on here trying to figure out what the problems with our scheming, coaching, execution, etc. are, but there is one key thing that I don't think anyone has talked about yet and that is leadership. Last year we had David Wilson, two years ago it was Tyrod (he really picked us up after that loss to JMU), but who is it this year? Bruce Taylor said that they don't have a guy that gets them hyped every game on defense, to me that means that our defense doesn't have a true leader and I can't think of a single player on our offense that has shown me any leadership skills. What great team in any sport didn't have a great leader? The lack of leadership from LT3 is probably the most frustrating though. He's coming off one of the best seasons in VT history and still hasn't shown the kind of leadership abilities a team with 3 returning offensive starters needs from their quarterback.

I'm not saying this is our only problem or that finding a leader will help us suddenly be the favorites to win the ACC again, but I think it's pretty obvious that the problem is there. I want to be able to read an article this week about someone calling a players only meeting, but I'm not optimistic about it. Hopefully someone steps up, and if I had to guess I'd say Taylor and Fuller are our two best options.
