Scot Loeffler has had only six football practices to install the new offense he’s bringing to Virginia Tech. But even in that limited time, it’s obvious the new offensive coordinator’s schemes will attempt to create mismatches through pre-snap motion and by putting versatile players on the field. "Any time you force teams to make a decision,” Loeffler said, “I think that’s a huge advantage.” Loeffler said. “We’re just trying to find the niche of trying to get our best 11 out on the field.”
“We’re going to take advantage of the defense,” said senior wide receiver D.J. Coles, a former Goochland star. “We’re going to attack the defense. We’re not going to sit back and just play. We’re going to go at them.”
Loeffler praised Thomas for making rapid, noticeable strides in improving his mechanics, in particular his body positioning, calling the progress Thomas has made “night and day.”
