After 2 Games

Some thoughts.

#15 Emelogu - This kid seems to be the real deal. Really seems to be one of the only players that can create his own shot. This offense needs him to have days like today to win, would love to see him in the starting lineup (Seems strange to have your Captain come off the bench as well). He will be the face of this franchise for years to come in my opinion.

#31 Eddie - Many wondered if he'd make the leap but it seems he has taking a step backward. Way too reliant on his jump shot, today he literally could not catch the basketball. Has made some awful passes, doesn't seem to have his confidence out there you can see him drag his head. This team needs him to pick it up and start driving.

#11 Wilson - Wow, vs Upstate it was his first collegiate game and he played like it. But today vs. WVU he was amazing. His ball handling skills are top notch, can't wait to see him against VCU. Real interested to see how it plays out when Rankin comes back (who will start) but he really seems like he can be running PG for this team for years to come (will also be interesting to see about Mueller and him next year). He can really drive the lane and put up points as well, real impressed today.

#32 Thompson - Didn't play in the 1st game but today he looked like down the road he can help this team. Was a little hesitant and you could tell he was a freshman but he got some big buckets and knocked down free throws while the other bigs were in foul trouble. I could see him being a big factor next year.

#3 Smith - The transfer has shown he can put the ball in the basket. Like the rest of the team vs Upstate his shot wasn't falling and really forced everything. Today vs WVU he really seemed to take quality shots and knock them down. Really has no ability to make passes (like almost everyone else really, haven't seen any dimes yet). But he should be a solid scorer as long as he waits for the game to come to him.

Just my thoughts after watching the first 2 games in their entirety. I really think this team will win some games it shouldn't, and surprise a lot of people. But it will without a doubt have it's growing pains.
