A few thoughts after the first game

Just a few things I noticed from the game tonight that I'm hoping some of you guys may give a little insight on:

1. Logan's throwing power: I know the receivers were awful tonight, but does anybody else feel like Logan might have too much arm strength for our receivers? I've noticed over the past two years (while not having reliable "hands" guys like Coale or Boykin) that maybe our receivers can't handle the arm strength of Logan. There are a lot of passes that are great or at least catchable in my opinion, but we can't catch the ball. Commentators always make snarky comments about Logan's completion percentage, but I guarantee you that if Logan were throwing to NFL talented receivers, then his numbers would be ridiculously better.

2. It has been made pretty obvious that Coles isn't as in shape as he should be. Tonight they were using him a lot in motion and as the (I think H-back or whatever). Do you think fatigue could have been a factor? I know that going in motion isn't exactly strenuous, but even seeing how tired Clowney was against UNC, I'm wondering if Coles not being in great shape had an effect.

3. Logan was missing a lot of reads on the read option. There were quite a few where he definitely should have kept it himself, but handed it off to edmunds who got stuffed at the LOS.

4. Why do we even have tight ends? The last few years, our tight ends have basically been useless. I know we lost Malleck, but Perez-Means has had pretty good hands and has shown some good things in training camp. Him, Redman, and even McCray all have the ability to make some plays. Not incorporating the tight ends at all is killing our passing attack, especially when our young receivers prove to not be reliable.

I know it's early to criticize some of these points and maybe this was just the gameplan that was designed for alabama, but i'm really hoping we can get our TEs involved and logan can get some better game experience running the read and utilizing all the pre-snap motion in our upcoming cupcake games.
