Don Meyer, a legend in the world of college basketball, lost his battle with carcinoid cancer this morning at the age of 69. Meyer had fought the disease for the last six years after a car accident revealed the cancer in his legs. When he retired in 2010 because of the cancer, he was the winningest coach in college basketball with 923 wins. He was more known for his great coaching seminars, many of the top coaches of today credit Meyer with some part of their success. Meyer was also a great player in his own right, earning Third Team All American his senior year out of Northern Colorado. His son, Jerrry, is the Director of Basketball Scouting for 247Sports.
