ESPN College Football Live Virginia Tech Roundtable

I won't spoil the entire video, but as you probably guessed they compared Logan Thomas to Cam Newton.

Love It

Thanks for posting the vid....I find it funny how they didn't mention Marcus Davis when mentioning are recievers...And the answer to their question is no, VT doesn't get respect as the best team in the ACC. Constantly overshadowed to fans and recruits by FSU and Miami. I hope we go undefeated this year, but it all depends on Cam Ne-- err, Logan Thomas

We have so many pieces around LT, it sets up nicely for him to either excel and/or feel a lot of pressure. Glad that we are opening up with some softballs this year instead of our standard opening weekend top 5 opponent.

Kirk had a good point about us putting ourselves out of it the first game every year. It's the undefeated teams that make the noise. Unfortunately we have started a lot of recent seasons 0-1. Says a lot for our fearless scheduling, but no one hypes a team that's 0-1. Also, it's nice to see West End getting some love on ESPN.

I too found it interesting that they didn't mention Marcus Davis, and they just threw Dyrell's name out there like he was healthy and glossed over the fact that he might not be fully healed by September and the possibility of him taking a redshirt. Their production team didn't put together very good notes.

I think everyone is picking us to go 10-2, including myself, but looking at that schedule I cannot pick one, let alone, two losses. Unless Logan completely falls on his face I think we'll be favored in every single game. Like you said Scott, I love the fact we won't play a ranked team until October. What do you guys think about the road trip to Georgia Tech?

after watching this

Why do I feel like Corso just put on a Hokie head and picked us to win the big game....

GT

As long as I've been a Hokie I've learned one thing: All bets are off when we play GT. Granted whoever their QB is (I'm thinking it''ll be Washington), they'll be on a learning curve, and Tevin seems to have a hard time not turning it over. It always seems, however, that PJ has Bud's number. Maybe with the confidence the coaches seem to have with the whip and our D-ends, we can stifle the triple option, but I remain reserved in claiming a victory. It seems their secondary may be terrible. I mean, when GT's offense is throwing all over their own defense, that's a terrible sign. Maybe if Logan can get a hold of the game by then we can open up the playbook for some passes and give ourselves a cushion in case CPJ rams the ball down our throats again. I hate that offense. It's like when your little brother button mashes in Street Fighter. It's strictly legal, but a cheap way to win.

For some reason, and I don't know why, I'm a bit concerned about Clemson. They're a real streaky team with some play makers. They almost took down Auburn last year, and in fact, beat themselves that game. It's all about momentum for them. I see 10-2 as well, but couldn't pick which teams we'll lose to.

i love that the reason they think we should be a national champion is our amazing dinning hall.
i always liked that we played really good teams early. we have played two eventual national champions and several big contenders. true we lost them all and it would have been awesome if we won. but these games only made our guys better and more experienced. playing cupcakes gives you false confidence.

They Like Blacksburg

They love the game day atmosphere, Thursday night games, and now it is confirmed they love the "cafeteria". What more could you want, except a National Title? 14-0? It can happen. I believe!

#Let's Go - Hokies

it's becoming apparent

to me at least, that we are the BCS-Championship-Program-in-waiting. We're starting to get consistent critical acclaim, even in these types of videos where we used to get tore apart pretty bad. Nice nod to Beamer and our program, pretty pleased with our respect level considering. We just need to step up one day and win it all.

And yeah, maybe we are a dark horse contender in the polls this year. SOS be damned, I do believe an undefeated dominant team does get talked up more.

That is FOUR ACC championship

That is FOUR ACC championship in the last SEVEN years (12 team league be damned)...I love ESPN's crack-research squad

Love it Cautiously!

"Why is Virginia Tech number nineteen on this list?" "I don't know but after hearing all of that they should be like...sixth!"

Though I am a huge fan of such love from the College Gameday/Roundtable crew sometimes stuff like this gets me a little nervous. Much like many others I see us losing a game or two but I can't seem to really get a feel for which ones. Sure the GT trip during the beef of the schedule will be tough but more than winnable. Miami is always a challenge but as I read and hear more Canes fans rave about Al Golden the more I see Randy Shannon part deuce (unmet expectations- remember how they were when good ole' Randy was hired?). ECU will be a great game as well....AGH! I don't want to say IT because I said it last year so I will predict 10-2 or 11-1 with a Coastal Division Title. Flip a coin as to the one or two games but I am already a huge fan of the approach being taken by this team and the potential that is there.
