Chances to see the Hokies?

Anyone know if there is going to be a midnight Madness type of event this year? If not will there be a chance to see the Hokies before the season opener?

I believe there is something this year, only they are calling it the "Tip-off Tailgate" it's at 6:30 on October 11th... But it's not in Blacksburg. It's in Salem, Virginia...

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

I believe it was announced that there would be no Midnight Madness, but the event hokiecamel mentioned in Salem is the closest you're going to get. It's free to the public and looks to be a good time. I miss the days of Late Night With The Hokies though.

It was sad when I put it in google and the first result led off with "Help the Hokies kick off their season in the Big East..." I was hoping Whit would bring some of that Cincy love for basketball with him and keep the big changes rolling. With all the changes to the roster and the staff I am getting antsy to see what this team will look like.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Give a little time. There just isn't much Buzz about our basketball team right now for the majority of our fanbase. Yes, we are excited for the hire, and the awesome recruiting class, and what looks to be a great recruiting class next year, but we're the select few. Once we see the team playing at a much higher level this year, and potentially even knocking off someone they really shouldn't, we'll capitalize on it with an event next year.

Last thing you want to do right now is have this big event for the program and only see the stands 1/2 to 1/4 filled, as we saw in the past with Greenberg's Midnight Madness.

In all fairness, Whit did say something about us selling more season tickets this year than we did last year. That's promising.
