I've been struggling to write this post for the last couple of days. I've been going back-and-forth in my head, trying to put my finger on why we want to see the Hokies decked out head-to-toe in all-maroon. It's undeniable they're sharp as hell. Stare at them for just a couple of seconds and they snarl and bite at you. They clock a 4-4 forty, they got heart. They're as "Virginia Tech" as the Hokie Stone that watches students get stung by the wind as they walk across the drillfield in the winter. They're simple, not overstated, perfect for a team that carries a lunchpail to work.
There's no mention of pants. Of course not, that Tweet ran out of characters, and it's not worth noting we'll wear the same old white pants. That was me being logical. However, my initial conclusion was presuming and irrational: @VT_Football neglected the pants because they want the all-maroon uniforms to be a surprise. That's what I want to believe.
I don't know if the Frankinator, John Ballein or the seniors picked Sugar Bowl uniform. I don't know if it's possible for Nike to make the pants in time for the game. And for all I know white pants (or, gasp, orange) could be a done deal. But if anyone is listening, and is open to a suggestion, a lot of Hokies, the same Hokies who buy tickets (even proxy tickets) and travel for the team really want to see #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING in New Orleans.

I have no problem with flair, I just wish they'd put orange stripes up the sides? I don't know, something different. I don't like the thick white-orange combo across the shoulders we've had for a few seasons now..it looks kinda throwback. *shrugs*

I think the ol' Bruce Smith pic from earlier exemplifies how badass #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING is. We're not Oregon or Gawgia. We had those cool black uni's for the Boise State game, but through it all nothing spells out the gritty, hard nosed type football were all so accustom to like Chicago Maroon head-to-toe.

Anytime your football team is called a "fraud program" by someone like Tony Cornheiser you MUST pack the all maroon uniforms and the lunch pail and go to work and make that DICK along with Herbstreit and Turner Gill and everyone else who had nothing but negative things to say about VPI eat their words. Frank says he has nothing to apologize for but he DOES have alot to prove to just about every analyst on ESPN's payroll. Time to go to work, this is a program defining game. If our boys can't get up for this game.... Well then it is nut check time!!!!

On a previous Hokie Hotline Lester mentioned VT doesn't even have maroon pants this year. Unless they buy them specifically for this game they won't be wearing them, which is very unfortunate.

Nothing screams "I am a Man, back the fuck down!" like Maroon. I can believe Lester would let this happen. Not just for this game, but by ordering Orange pants over Maroon at the beginning of the year. This might just be one of the worst uniform years ever.

I have always loved the maroon on maroon unis, always will too. I also dont mind the orange pants w maroon top. I really was hoping when the Nike pros were doing our unis that they would do our maroon on maroons, but i was wrong. That would be sick, Nike pro combat all maroon! The greatest is all time 03 Miami game, those unis were the best, wish they would bring em back.
