Defensive lineman Harry Lewis committed to Virginia Tech this afternoon. Lewis informed Thekeyplay.com's Mark Trible of his decision. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Hampton, Virginia (Phoebus) product finished with 60 tackles and 11 sacks last season. Lewis is rated as a 3-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite. Cornell Brown was instrumental in securing Lewis' verbal pledge.
"I love to rush the passer and read off the offensive lineman to see what I'm gonna do," Lewis told Mark Trible in an interview with Thekeyplay.com earlier this month. "I'm really agile for my size. If I played basketball, I'd be point guard."
About his decision, Lewis at 4:30 PM today told Mark Trible, "It was right, so much of a family feel ... They want kids to succeed, and it felt like home."
Regarding the Virginia Tech program, he said, "They're straight forward about what they want to accomplish."
Lewis went on to tell Trible the Tech coaches were "happy and ecstatic", and Cornell Brown, who led his recruitment said, "It's like Christmas."
Finally, his message for Tech fans is, "I'm honored to be a Hokie."
Welcome to HokieNation, Harry!
