Harry Lewis Commits to Virginia Tech

Defensive lineman Harry Lewis committed to Virginia Tech this afternoon. Lewis informed Thekeyplay.com's Mark Trible of his decision. The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Hampton, Virginia (Phoebus) product finished with 60 tackles and 11 sacks last season. Lewis is rated as a 3-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite. Cornell Brown was instrumental in securing Lewis' verbal pledge.

"I love to rush the passer and read off the offensive lineman to see what I'm gonna do," Lewis told Mark Trible in an interview with Thekeyplay.com earlier this month. "I'm really agile for my size. If I played basketball, I'd be point guard."

About his decision, Lewis at 4:30 PM today told Mark Trible, "It was right, so much of a family feel ... They want kids to succeed, and it felt like home."

Regarding the Virginia Tech program, he said, "They're straight forward about what they want to accomplish."

Lewis went on to tell Trible the Tech coaches were "happy and ecstatic", and Cornell Brown, who led his recruitment said, "It's like Christmas."

Finally, his message for Tech fans is, "I'm honored to be a Hokie."

Harry's film is available on his Hudl.

You can go ahead and delete my thread Joe. This is fantastic news! One of the more underrated players in the state in my opinion. Welcome to Hokie Nation Harry!

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Welcome to Hokie Nation, Harry! You're honored to be a Hokie and we're thrilled to call you one of our own.

Great news

It's all about The VPISU
VT '10, Born & Raised in the 804. Also go Keydets, Army Black Knights, NY Giants, NY Rangers, and ATL Braves.

Welcome!
Quite the offer list per 247.
Cornell Brown at work.
Good get from the 757 over Penn State and others.

Edit: He looks very patient on his highlights, but sheds the blocker when he finds the ball to make a play. Looks like a year with Gentry could make a difference.

From the article on the daily press by Norm Wood:

Lewis said his relationships with Tech redshirt freshman wide receiver Deon Newsome, a Hampton High graduate, freshman running back Marshawn Williams, a Phoebus graduate, and incoming freshman defensive tackle Ricky Walker, a Bethel High graduate, helped seal the college decision.

Im cool with all those guys, Lewis said. We talk all the time. I told them all this week I was thinking about committing. They were hype."

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

Hopefully he can help recruit Josh Sweat. Kind of like Ford was in Shai's ear last year.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Sweet. I love when the big guys sign up!

Is he an undersized tackle or perfect sized End?

The Hopkins bros were right at 6 ft as I recall.

he's a DT in our system all the way. 260lb in HS? He'll play at 275-285 after a couple years in the weight room.

Flowers, Harris, Chancellor, Carmichael, Whitley, Hosley, Fuller, Exum

I always feel like this when we get a commitment.

yay huey!

Brain fry.

Much win.
