Vandy and Mizzou was already postponed and now Florida just had 19 positive results (not including tracing). The Florida-LSU game is on thin ice now. VT has had our issues, other schools are seeing bigger surges now too.
Edit: Changed title to reflect impacts in all conferences

Baylor had a bunch positive today too.
They'd previously shut down all football activities it was so bad at Baylor (link). Saw an article today that said they have 28 cases on the team and 14 staff members all positive.
Well what do ya know?
You could say these cancellations..... are spreading like a virus
These cancellations...are contagious.
We need to spread the word and make this article... go viral
You guys are killing it.
Guess the SEC just doesn't care enough about football.
it just doesn't mean more
The earlier report of 19 players out was incorrect. It is 5.
Orlando Sentinel
Somebody heard covid-19 and misinterpreted I bet. Lol
The source you posted said that 5 tested positive on Sunday, and 14 more tested positive today. Hence, 19.
I was just going on what the school had acknowledged at the time. If it is between a Twitter "source" and public reporting from the school, I'm going with what the school says.
Of course we are seeing surges, people are getting complacent. We exist in a world where people think that their politics will protect them from a virus. That is how dumb this has become. Downvote me as much as you please, I will wake up tomorrow healthy and right
I hope so
Please no.

You can be healthy and right and also still in violation of CGs.
Thanks everyone for not taking the bait.
Does "Downvote me as much as you please" translate to "Downvote me all you want, I'm going to speak the dam truth?"
Respect my decision?
RIP Arnie
Yep woke up this morning healthy and right.
Its a shame that I was downvoted for calling attention to a virus that has killed 210,000+ of our fellow citizens. But I wear it gladly.
You were downvoted to oblivion for bringing up the political aspect of COVID despite the mods repeatedly telling us to take the conversation elsewhere. And you still aren't doing yourself any favors with this one.
Perhaps we should call attention to this TKP Meta post:
META: TALK ABOUT COVID-19 ELSEWHERE
Thank you π
Isn't this an auto ban or something? Literally baiting the community.....again
Stop.
It's more of a shame that you don't understand Covid + Politics doesn't need to be discussed on TKP. We get enough of that crap in our everyday life and every time we turn on the tv or social media.
the community has largely addressed this already (and mod squad thanks you all for it) -- AZ please stop smugly trying to bait everyone into a debate while framing it as "calling attention" as if the other commenters haven't heard.
Quite week for Florida...coach announces he wants a full house for the LSU game shortly followed by the announcement that the rona has temporarily shut down the football program...and they lost last week. Peak Florida Man.
Florida being Florida doing Florida things.

What happened here?
No idea...But must have been a doozy.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Hokies lose their voice this week. We are still very much in the thick of this
John Laaser tested positive? Bill Roth is back?!?!
No, no. Someone else
Bill McChain is coming back?!?
Nope
You know, if their players were really dedicated to football, this wouldn't be happening. Isn't that right, Bronco?
Amazed it had not happened sooner, $EC coeds are hard to resist...
Samsonite, I was way off!
#DisciplineEqualsFreedom
Florida-LSU has been postponed due to florida not being able to play.
So it guess it only hit their offense because not having a defense didn't stop them last weekend.
Poor Dan "I'm certainly sorry if I offended anyone" Mullen.
But they'd held games every mid to late October previously...
It's not how you start, it's how you finish
The state of Alabama is about to cure COVID before Saturday.
Ok, i get that there are pulses of outbreaks, but WHY is this news?
Its not.
Honestly I would expect to hear about any P5 head coach that tests positive and has to miss games, so the fact that this is the most successful coach in the 21st century is certainly newsworthy.
Because CFB writers need material on a Wednesday. Also Bama not having Saban against UGA is a storyline that is easy to run with.
News? It's posted by Bruce Feldman, who writes about CFB. And it's about Saban, a coach that is the top dog for a perennial top 5 team, with a top 5 matchup this weekend, and has played in 4 of the last 5 national title games, and won 5 of the last 11 natty's. He IS the biggest coach in college football. He is the news.
If only he were more dedicated to his team
This still does not compute, you would think his devilish heritage would make him immune to human diseases...
Cincy game has been postponed. Ole Miss also dealing with rise in cases.
Good luck to the B1G and PAC for scheduling no bye weeks. It will be interesting if any missed games just don't count or are forfeits for the team that cannot field enough players.
As far as the rest of the country is concerned, the PAC already forfeited the season. 7 games? Really?
They just wanted to feel included. They were way late to the table
At least they'll fill their bowl allotment, including one in the NY6 Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
Sources -- Multiple SEC schools to lose conference revenue for not following COVID-19 protocols.

Well, well, well.
Just wondering where that money ends up going? Split among the schools that did follow? The commissioner's back pocket? Put aside in a bank account with generous interest to be redistributed next year? The Sun Belt?
Some of that money needs to be spent on a class to teach coaches that the correct way to wear PPE doesn't involve looking like an uncircumsied penis.
Hopefully the flag was for stupidity
Gotta say, when watching the game real time, this made me wonder why coaches are even wearing masks.
edit: this is in reference to the link about SEC schools losing revenue for not following COVID-19 protocols, accidently commented instead of replied to that post
Not SEC but another one
I updated the title since things are broadening.
There's a freshman 15 joke in here somewhere...broadening.
first dominoes everywhere
Folks, it's Gameday!!!
And, as of this post, we are still playing tonight! Let's go!
Hokies!
Wisconsion just postponed their next game and they are down to just 2 QBs. Last year's starter had surgery at the first of the month and is out a few weeks and the next two in line QB's just went out for 21 days for Covid. Yikes.
Pretty sure its a straight cancellation, not a postponement
Have no clue how anyone in the Big10 plays more than 6 games with the 21 day policy for positive tests and no built in off weeks.
I'm also still unsure why with all the conferences playing now why the playoff won't just slide back a few weeks to give everyone some space.
The NFL combine is in February. Most of these guys want at least a little recovery time prior to going in for the combine. If the playoff is pushed back, it could but up against, or even overlap, with the combine. Meaning no recovery
It also has to do with loss of eyeballs if it has to compete with NFL Playoff Games. NFL plays on Saturdays in January.
From a beat writer for Wisconsin. And this mentality is probably part of the reason they had an outbreak.
