Yup and the special teams recovered all the onside kicks. I missed the third one but the first two were recovered by Mitchell so he's gotta get the 25 next week.

Im with you. Look at the 3rd down stat. Thats the reason Louisville was even in the game. Our D would do great on 1st and 2nd down, set them up for 3rd n long and then give up a big play. This happened at least 4 or 5 times, of course 2 for LONG TDs.
Our D solves that riddle and we win going away by 21 or more.
EDIT: FAM!!

The ACCN just showed our highlights and said we won 46-28.... With a graphic that showed that final score. WTF.....the game was JUST on your network! How could you get that wrong?

Fam I was keeping up on The Score app while taking the squirts trick or treating. It was torture updating for the last play hahaha. Huge win faaammmmm!

Eh, their best win is Louisiana-Lafayette. I really want to see them play a G5 school that has a history of winning (like App State who they have in a couple weeks) or a mid tier P5 school (no, Kansas doesn't count) in a bowl game. Don't want to take anything from them cause they've had some big wins, but let's see how long it will last first.

Based on Brock's response to Will Stewart, Satterfield told him he wasn't good enough to play at App St. when he was coach there and Brock was in HS, lost to App St 2 years in a row at CCU and then here we are.
Fun to note that CCU is currently ranked higher than we are in polls and just beat GA St 51-0 lol.

If I've said it once I'll say it again - Hoffman sets the tone for the line. Guy is a baller and hammers to the end of the play. He's also savvy- shown by that acting job.

Apologies in advance for what probably won't be a popular opinion.
Happy about the win, but tbh incredibly disappointed in the fickleness of our fanbase right now. Engaging with game threads on TKP and reddit (mostly reddit) have long been my favorite way to watch games, but at this point every single bad play becomes a referendum on coaches, and people seem to have no memory of what they wrote earlier in the game (or, god forbid, earlier in the week) and have literally zero awareness of the circumstances under which ALL of these teams are playing.
We had a great opening offensive drive with Herbert, and then for every subsequent drive where we started showing different looks and giving the ball to different players, people were CLAMORING for Herbert to be given the ball on every down, and beating down Fuente and Corn because they wouldn't do it. End of the second quarter, we gave the ball to Herbert on every down, and he gained something like -7 yards on 3 runs. The reddit thread swapped positions immediately and started throwing all the blame on Corn for running predictable plays when, not 15 minutes before that, they were up in arms about the fact that Herbert wasn't getting enough carries bc OBVIOUSLY he's got the magic to "make something happen" every time he touches the ball (which he doesn't, nor do most RBs not named Etienne or Henry or whoever your personal elite RBs are in NCAA or the NFL - Herbert is a stud, and a playmaker, and will absolutely play on Sundays and probably be incredibly successful, but imo he's just a step below that elite tier).
Once UL scored that TD before the half, someone said "That's about all I need to see of JHam's 'defense'." What the fuck do you expect from a guy who's trying to install a new defensive scheme with no spring camp and half of his players out during fall camp? Plus the fact that half of the defensive players on the field were out for two weeks (and not the same two weeks, but overlapping weeks over both camp and the first 5 games we played and the associated practice weeks) and are just now getting back to practicing at full strength? Are you kidding me?
Look. Football is on TV, and that makes this whole year feel normal, but from a player development perspective, this year is INSANE. We basically lost 4 weeks of "regular" practice from the point the season started and we had 20+ players and coaches out. In camp, we were without tons of players. As I already said, we didn't even have spring camp.
Because of the normalcy of having football on TV, people are starting to treat this like a normal year and judging teams and training as if it were a normal year.
ITS.
FUCKING.
NOT.
People need to start chilling the fuck out and realizing that things aren't going to be easy, and every game is going to be a struggle. I mean, look at the teams currently ranked right now - if that's not an indication of how weird this year is, I'm not sure what else is.

So true. The fanbase needs to grow the hell up and enjoy the fact that we have football. Look for encouraging things instead of pissing and moaning over every failed play. The offense was insane yesterday and still people want offensive coaches fired. The past three weeks have been perfect examples of ways a team can lose or win a ballgame. A lot of it is luck of the way the ball bounces.
Fam or whatever. Go Hokies.

Watching the game, I was feeling pretty good about the defense overall. Obviously gotta finish the job when they get into third and long, but outside of those two huge breakdowns, they played well! They were in the Louisville backfield fairly consistently, held down some seriously speedy players, and did enough to win the game for an offense that was also moving the ball well.
It's almost like the longer the players have to practice together without interruptions, the better they get over time. I think the defense has shown a lot of growth over the course of the season and even though they obviously aren't a finished product yet, I'm glad to see them seemingly taking steps forward in such a crazy set of circumstances.

Agree with what you're saying. Sometimes there seems to an emphasis on the negative rather than the positive.
I'm noticing with Boston College this season, every little good thing they do is highlighted and people talk about how they're on an upward trajectory, and how great they're doing.
It reminds me of the years before Vick and the national title run, where we savored the good wins more and were less expectant of top 10 seasons.

I will enjoy the win as if I had enough faith we would win to enjoy watching the whole time. I will try harder to believe, starting by watching the VT-Louisville game tonight. Go Hokies!!

FAMMMMMM!!!
Literally my fave video of all time. At least the explicit version... π... lol
Just enough from the defense FAM!
It's a great day when you have a 10/10 Hooker fam
It took 59 minutes, but we were finally able to step on their
legneck, FAM.Herbert is back to having 100 yard games, FAM!!!
A perfect Hooker on Halloween π faaammmmm!
KH had 147 yds and HH was 10/10
FAM!
I'll take it FAM LETS GO
Brock Hoffman - MVP
Liberty game scares me.
Take the over.
...fam?
FAM everyone.
First perfect QB game in VT stats history (minimum 8 passes).
Nice to beat an opponent with a losing record Fam.
Happy Halloween, Hokies
FAM!
Is Herbert back in the Heisman?
hah.
I think it's Etienne's to lose, at this point.
Hooker leaped him. 10-10 183 yards and 3 TD's.
In all seriousness, huge bounce back game for HH. You know he took last weeks loss hard and came out and was nearly perfect in all aspects.
I think the stats say he was actually perfect.
I'd rather him get a few incompletions instead of taking a few sacks. Statistically perfect but not functionally perfect
I would rather him quit taking completely unnecessary big hits every week.
He has to be sore this morning
FAM
Thought we would have won it by more than that.
FAM, defense was outstanding other than 2 plays
Yup and the special teams recovered all the onside kicks. I missed the third one but the first two were recovered by Mitchell so he's gotta get the 25 next week.

EDIT: FAM!!
It's science.
Just scroll right on past that third down efficiency row.
Or the fact that we basically did to them what wake did to us last week: win the stats, but lose on turnovers.
That fourth quarter gave me heartburn, but we got through.... now I can scare trick or treaters in peace
FAMMMMMM
I fucking love every single one of you bastards FAM!!!!!!
FAM OR TREAT!
FAM!
Happy Halloween Fam! Spooky SZN ππ¦
FAM! We won and our coaches don't completely f'ing suck! Let's Go!!
I hate that i love this team... Fourth Quarter drove me to drink more than normal. FAMMM
Hooker is BAK
FAMM!!!!!
BACK ON TRACK FAM
FAM! plz destroy Liberty next week. also wasn't their QB committed to us at one point?
Think he committed to us, decommitted, went to auburn, and the transferred to liberty?
no vent thread this week! FAM!
We tried to loose but despite our best efforts pulled off the win. I will take it!
FAM! Big win! Way to finish. Lol though......
The ACCN just showed our highlights and said we won 46-28.... With a graphic that showed that final score. WTF.....the game was JUST on your network! How could you get that wrong?
It's the same network that screws up every down and distance. At one point my eyes went crossed after the yards to gain changed 3-4 times.
WON A FOOTBALL GAME, FAM!
Fam I was keeping up on The Score app while taking the squirts trick or treating. It was torture updating for the last play hahaha. Huge win faaammmmm!
That was an ugly win. I will take it. It feels like this will be the type of games we will see moving forward. Go Hokies!
Hokie win AND free candy!?

FAM!! π¦ππ
FAM!!!!
A good Hooker makes up for a less than effective D
I'm having some happy beers, fam
Where's my spurtle ads fam?
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah buddy!
One man I would not want to make angry fam.
I must not TKP hard enough. What's the backstory on this?
Same. What happened here? Maybe when Satterfield was at App State he didn't recruit Hoffman?
Also, Hoffman might want to be playing for Coastal Carolina this year.
No clue, but here's a 2017 App vs CCU game recap.. Here's 2018.
Here's Brock's recruiting profile. (Interest, but no offer from App State)
Eh, their best win is Louisiana-Lafayette. I really want to see them play a G5 school that has a history of winning (like App State who they have in a couple weeks) or a mid tier P5 school (no, Kansas doesn't count) in a bowl game. Yea but nobody cares, hence why someone would transfer out of there
Or in Hoffman's case, to be closer to his mom.
If I've said it once I'll say it again - Hoffman sets the tone for the line. Guy is a baller and hammers to the end of the play. He's also savvy- shown by that acting job.
Agreed....we wouldn't have lost to UVa last year if we had him....F U NCAA clearing house!
I feel like the world needs to know the story behind this tweet. Yes, the world.

A center with an axe to grind.
That's a good combination.
I will take the win FAM!
HMFH+KMFH=WIN
This should be spammed on uofl's twitter like we did with Nolley last year.
FAM lets beat Liberty and Miami
GOBBLE GOBBLE CHUMPS!!
GOBBLE GOBBLE BITCHES!!!
GOBBLE GOBBLE FAM!!!!
We went trick or treating and got a WIN!
Trick or treating with Mini LancerHokie was fun. She got lots of candy, including full size candy bars. I got some candy and alcohol! Wins all around!
Hooker. 10/10. Would buy again and recommend to others.
I love you all.
Go to hell.
Have a good weekend.
In that order??
Nice win, great way to respond especially after that back breaking touchdown before the half.
Probably should have watched the game before coming here... but hey, FAM!
You will enjoy the game a lot more on watching knowing the victory is assured.
Do yourself a favor and skip the last 15 seconds of the first half
Great Win. FAM!
Coming back from trick or treating to a win, FAM!
Hooker was perfect passing! FAM!
UNC is losing...fam?

Also, is the Stack Master the new Spurtle/Tac Shaver?
Can anyone point me to where I can watch the game? I listened to what I could on the tune in app, but want to actually watch it.
search on Youtube Virginia Tech vs Louisville football 2020 and you get the abbreviated game. Shows most of the plays in about 25 minutes
YouTube has the condensed version available!
ESPN 3 (espn watch) should have it since it was on acc network.
ESPNU channel is doing a replay at 5:00 today
I will enjoy the win as if I had enough faith we would win to enjoy watching the whole time. I will try harder to believe, starting by watching the VT-Louisville game tonight. Go Hokies!!
