Seriously, we have about a 0.001% chance of winning the ACC. Even if UNC loses, we are behind them head-to-head and still have to play Clemson. Then, even if we beat UNC out, our odds of beating Clemson in the ACC Championship are minimal. Just want UVa to lose.

I hear what you are saying. And if I thought we had a legitimate chance of winning the ACC, I would be feeling differently, but I just don't see it from a practical standpoint. Certainly wanting VT to do well, but at this point, I think UVa losing is a better result,

I hate to say it...but if i got this right, a LOLUVA win tonight coupled with a ND win next week (with Lawrence already declared out for the ND game) will leave us only needing one more UNC loss for us to control our own destiny to an ACC championship game against ND if we can win out.

When faced with a choice between 2 evils, you should choice the lesser one. In this case, a loss by UNCheat screws them more than a win by the Wa(ss)hoo(le)s screws us, so... f_ck Mack Brown and this sorry conference that tried to set him up to make the ACC championship game.

I feel dirty rooting for UVa. I am however with a family member watching the game who is a UVa fan. So I can enjoy the irony of pretending to be on his side, when in reality it only helps VT.

So what are our rooting interests moving forward? I'm assuming we want Clemson to beat ND, UNC to beat ND, Miami to beat UNC, and we win out? Then we would be in a three-way tie with ND and Miami for 2nd place. That I think would come down to record against common opponents, which Miami would theoretically win by being 4-1 (loss to Clemson) to ND and VT 3-2 (ND losses to Clemson and UNC, VT losses to Wake and UNC). So I assume we need Miami to drop one more too somewhere. Edit - so in this scenario we would win the three-way tiebreaker with ND and Miami because of tiebreaker rule 2: head-to-head competition versus the team with the best win pct in the conference, which would be Clemson. In this scenario we would be 1-0, ND and Miami both 0-1.
I guess also ND could win out and we win out. Then if UNC beats Miami, that puts us in a two-way tie with Clemson for 2nd place, which we would theoretically win with the head-to-head. I suppose if we ended in a three-way tie with Miami and Clemson we would win being 2-0 head-to-head, Clemson 1-1 and Miami 0-2.

opposite. We want ND to win out, including beating Clemson. That would give UNC & Wake 3 losses eliminating their 2-loss tiebreakers overus, and puts us in position to make the ACCCG by winning out ... upsetting Clemson and beating Miami (giving us the 2-loss tiebreaker over both of them)
then we face ND in the title game.

Don't see us losing that game tbh. Giving up almost 16 yards per pass attempt is other worldly bad. Though Brennan Armstrong being Tim Tebow might put up some points on us.

For as bad as our defense has been, they have gotten a lot of interceptions this year. Armstrong throws a lot of interceptions. We should pick him off a few times.

If UNC continues to play like that, they likely won't be ranked soon. UVA beat them while they had a number next to their name, but let's see where they end up at the end of the season.

No argument from me. The media seems to love Mack and Howell, though, so I wouldn't be shocked to see them hang on at like 25. They shouldn't, but I wouldn't be shocked.

Totally agree they are getting a big pass from the media, two straight losses to garbage one win teams and the media is crickets. If that's VT this site would be melted down and the media would be going nuts.

No matter what, we need to beat this team this year.
We need our offense firing on all cylinders, and we need a semblance of a defense. Mostly we need to not just randomly give them the occasional 7 points.

Unc.
Also, other games thread my friend.
Merci, mon ami
Uh not UVA lol. Is that even question?
I guess whatever will make us better in the league
Nah. Still wouldnt root for them to win.
I'm no fan of UNCheat but an UVAh loss will make my night even better.
Does that benefit us this season?
No
Does UNC taking a second loss help VT? Yes, also yes.

I love how we would rather root against UVA than root for VT to do well. It is not a rivalry when no one cares. Literally no one gives a shit.

This is a crater game.
As in, I'm rooting for a meteor to hit Lane North and create a large crater.
We don't cheer "for" either team, but a humiliating loss by UVA is to be cherished.
Not this year. Need them to beat unc
Uva so Carolina loses. We're not going to Charlotte but until we're mathematically eliminated I will not give up hope
I can't believe I'm saying this but go whoooova.
I'm at breaking even on my betslip this weekend. Remaining bets are unc(-6.5) and a VT/duke/unc ML parlay. So...unc, but for purely monetary reasons
EDIT: well...poop
Spurtle commercial sighting.
Some of these posts make me want to vomit. And its not just the 5th of whiskey Ive had.
UNC is my other alma mater...
Lol, did you even have to class bro?
I give down vote for not calling them LOLUVA.
Not much of a choice. LOLUVA over the heels just to make it possible for us.
I hate to say it...but if i got this right, a LOLUVA win tonight coupled with a ND win next week (with Lawrence already declared out for the ND game) will leave us only needing one more UNC loss for us to control our own destiny to an ACC championship game against ND if we can win out.
UNC plays ND too...I'll buy this logic
When faced with a choice between 2 evils, you should choice the lesser one. In this case, a loss by UNCheat screws them more than a win by the Wa(ss)hoo(le)s screws us, so... f_ck Mack Brown and this sorry conference that tried to set him up to make the ACC championship game.
Hoping for a game where they both just look like absolute shit and then UNC wins on some cheap bullshit type of play.
I feel dirty rooting for UVa. I am however with a family member watching the game who is a UVa fan. So I can enjoy the irony of pretending to be on his side, when in reality it only helps VT.
You're rooting for UNC to lose not for . . . that other thing to happen. (I can't even say it.)
Plus, it's Halloween...everything is strange.

This game is somethin' 👀
UNC looking bad.
If there were people on Chapel Hill's campus, they'd be sad right about now.
Ugh. UVA's QB is good.
Duh... You pull for the giant meteor.
This is not a UVA team I'm excited about playing.
How the hell did we lose to this unc team. . . .
I just asked the original owner of the HorseOnATreadmill screenname that exact question.
Welp who wants to take a 7 game parlay to see us in the ACCCG?
Hello costal chaos my old friend
Did they just win the superbowl? Holy shit. What a bunch of clowns.
To be fair UNC/UVA is as traditional a rivalry as it gets. They've played each other 125 times.
I can't stand UVA, but seems petty to give em a hard time about getting fired up for that win.
They beat UNC! I wish VT would have beat UNC and jumped up and down like a bunch of clowns.
It's only their second win of the season let em have it plus it gets us right back in the boat for an outside shot at chaos.
Chaos confirmed. What a wacky conference. At least we can count on Klempson always winning convincingly... oh wait, 2020.
So da hoos have a win over a ranked team this year and we do not. And they own the cup. Fuck 2020
Ain't over yet my dude
Don't see us losing that game tbh. Giving up almost 16 yards per pass attempt is other worldly bad. Though Brennan Armstrong being Tim Tebow might put up some points on us.

I'm not counting any Cups until they're downtown at TOTS/Hokie House
If the Cup is back in Hokie House this year I'll go full Ovechkin.
If UNC continues to play like that, they likely won't be ranked soon. UVA beat them while they had a number next to their name, but let's see where they end up at the end of the season.
They shouldn't be ranked this week, you can't lose to two straight 1 win teams and be ranked sorry
No argument from me. The media seems to love Mack and Howell, though, so I wouldn't be shocked to see them hang on at like 25. They shouldn't, but I wouldn't be shocked.

UVa doing UVa things.
Armstrong breaking the rock
