Pretty interesting in itself, ESPN is putting the title game on 6 different channels.

Even more interesting is the ESPN bottom line in the mock-up shown. The top ranked Hokies lost to Syracuse by 14 - in OT.

Okay, so to lose by 14 points (not 13) in OT, Syracuse would have to score a TD first, eschew the PAT for a 2 point conversion then score a defensive TD.
Its not impossible, but it's about as improbable as VT being #1 in the first place.
And you beat me to it...dammit.
Funny that it says we lost by 14 in OT considering that there is only 1 possible way for that to occur which is for the other team to score a TD, go for 2 and convert, and then recover a turnover and return it for a TD. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that no overtime game has ever been won by 14 points.
Yeah the closest we get is ASU-USC in '96 when they scored a TD and recovered a fumble for a TD setting up 48-35. If only they were in 3OT when you have to go for 2....
I think the bigger question is how the hell is #1 VT not playing #1 FSU to figure out who is #2?! Boy the BCS sure knows how to go out with a bang and the biggest controversy ever!
Someone is playing games with 1999 in mind.
I think ESPN is TROLLING us.. think we are 1 of 2 games on CBS this Bowl Season..
1 of 1. The Cotton Bowl is on Fox. It's weird.

Word on the street (#sources) is that CBS/Turner might be doing a similar multichannel broadcast for March Madness in the coming years. For the final four and championship games they are planning to have one channel broadcast with the usual "unbiased" commentators and the other two channels with commentators from each school. For example, a championship game between VT and UK would be on CBS with unbiased commentators, TBS with VT commentators, and TNT with UK commentators. I think its a great idea and will make watching the games that much more exciting. It will be fun hearing the home commentators go crazy over a huge dunk. If you switch over to the other team's channel it will be satisfying to hear the opposing commentators moan and groan after your team converts a big play.
I listen to a lot of the games as it seems I work most Saturdays in the fall. It's always fun for me to tune into the opposition's broadcasters. Miami is by far my favorite. All it takes is a small Hokie lead and out come the excuses.
I found the UVa announcers to be trrbl. They didn't seem very knowledgable, and they were really really really whiney. Like, I'm talking blaming VT for UVa being on the losing end of the series for the past decade when any decent football fan will tell you the key to victory is sacking the fuck up.
Those are the ACC rankings. VT is number 1. Syracuse is number 22. Out of 14.
Just the game and ambient sounds from the stadium on ESPN classic!?

That sounds awesome.
I want a channel of the control room. I missed those all access games back in 2004 or so.
I remember back in the day my dad got a satellite dish just so he could intercept the raw feed and we got commercial free sports. Also when it cut to commercials we just got to hear the commentators goof around while the cameras focused on random things.
yup, my grandpa stole his satellite tv for years. during the commercial breaks announcers would be cussing and talking junk and gossiping about people. it was great.
