Hey y'all VT football is unwatchable, and 2020 is the worst. That being said, it's November and it is Masters week!
Gameday will be there this Saturday. I think they will be battling rain near the beginning of the tournament rounds but nothing too crazy. Should be a good week.

He could. The Golf Channel was talking about how the course is much softer in the fall, so this will favor big hitters that fly the ball high. Therefore, you'd have to think the favorites are Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson.

Bryson story lines intrigue me this week. How will his approach work when he doesn't have a green reading book to help him scramble? Feel like it'll go a long way for the future of green books.
With the limits they put on them, I feel like rolling them back is the future; back to a time when you actually had to read them and putt. The tournament governing body (I say that because it cold be the PGA, Euro Tour, USGA, or Augusta) has authority over the books. If they don't like your book, you're not taking it out there.
I agree, but I'm also very pro-bifurcation. But the USGA does not seem to be in a hurry to make a move there. And that ignores the awful meddling from the OEMs into the game.
Augusta is always about 2 main things. Dominating the Par 5's and putting. You must putt well enough to save pars on the first nine on holes like 1, 3 and 8 and you must make bridies on the back and even bring eagle into play on 13 and 15.

I respect the guy for working his tail off and fully committing to a strategy. I don't want to see it at Augusta though. There are so many signature second shots at Augusta that Bryson is going to be able to avoid.
#2 long iron down the hill into the par 5 (bryson will have 9 iron or better)
#8 long iron or fairway wood up the hill with a big draw around the corner (Bryson will be hitting a 7 iron)
#10 mid iron off a downhill slanted lie into the par 4 (Bryson with pitching wedge)
#13 my favorite 2nd shot. ball above your feet, draw lie with a mid iron into a green that favors a cut. Bryson is going through 13 fairway into 14 with a wedge back onto the green from 120 yards.

I don' thave issue with his actually golfing. It's the side show stuff...the complaining about the greens on a hot mic when he's in contention, the slow play, the lack of having a circle on tour. That's what bothers me. It's not Patrick Reed bother me, but it's not warm and fuzzy like Rickie.
I pray that Rickie wins a Major eventually. He deserves it like no other.

I am actually going to watch this as much as I can this year. I've been rooting for a Masters with no fans since all this started. I think the golfers and the gorgeous course they have are more than enough and not having to hear some asshole yelling about getting in the hole is going to be glorious.

I can confirm this, Augusta should be on the bucket list of every golf fan. I went to a couple Monday practice rounds when I lived in Atlanta (2001-2007) and TV just does not do the place justice. Plus the Monday practice round was great because no one is posted up at the greens really (except 16 grandstand) so you really get to see the course, and the amount of elevation change will shock you.
PLUS you get to see how many beers you can drink, pimento sandwiches you can eat, and how tall your Masters Beer Cup Wizards Staff can get. I have those cups everywhere.
I eat minimum 8 sandwiches a day. I have no self control.
Wouldn't know, that damn lottery system seems to have a black hole for every single one of my entries for the past 10 years and counting.
That's why Augusta is different...if you do yell like that, they remove you from the tournament and take your badge so you can't get back in. Wish every one was like that except the 16th hole at the Waste Management. That one can stay.

The best part is when all the fans are there. If someone tries to play the hole without the skip shot in practice the fans will boo them until they do it.
