I mean the same could be said about the '06-'07 teams.

This is what I miss from 2010**:

VT

Those jerseys, and that RB trio.

Edit: I'm an idiot. 2011 was good, too.

That was 2010.

God those uniforms were sweet.

I'm not sure if I love the uniforms or just have good memories of the guys that wore them.

i miss Danny Coale dammit

You're telling me dude. My favorite moment was when he came out to punt for one of the first times and the TV announcers were talking about how our opponents were looking at great field position. I said "But Danny Coale." He boomed it.

*sigh*

I don't think that would've been the case- all 3 of our losses in 2011 were on the offense- the defense played great against Clemson at Lane, great against Michigan, and while they didn't play as well in the ACCCG, the offense only putting up 10 points was never going to be enough regardless of the defense.

But what about with this years schedule

Definitely 2010's offense.

1999 offense > 2010 offense.

With today's voters, dare I say Michael Vick actually would've won the Heisman in '99?

Easily. They look for flash. Michael Vick was all flash.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

'99 offense + '06 defense = Dynasty.

2011 OL wasn't good enough. The offense would not have scored more points against Clemson with Thompson blowing up the middle even if the defense shut them down.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

Yeah, that OL was crushed by Stanford in the OB.

The only memory I chose to keep from that Orange Bowl:

A little piece of me dies inside every time I think about Tyrod in the NFL. I just wanna see him get a shot to play.

the other day sportcenter had "joe flacco knee" up next and I was really excited for a moment...turns out he's fine and i'm a terrible person

Leg for you

Boykin got jacked. He doesn't look very happy.

What about the Hosley pick and the safety on Andrew Luck?

I really believe if Hosley wouldn't have dropped that one pick-6 we would have won that game. That's probably me being a homer but it definitely would've been closer.

"I thought the kid right there you're talking to right there played his nuts off."

Our D was Swiss cheese the entire 2nd half. Plus, that was kind of a rebuild/retooling year for them that season.

We were hanging in there. However, calling JGW-Stanford's TEs a "mismatch" would have been quite the understatement. Pretty sure Stanford hit the same PA pass to a TE for a big gain/TD about 4 or 5 times.

Correction: our run D was Swiss cheese-like that season (and somewhat in '09). Those TEs and their line thoroughly outmuscled us. Sure we were hanging in there, but only mid-way through the 3rd when the inevitable occurred. It was what it was.

After watching this video, I don't think we can stress enough how much a fully healthy and in shape DJ Coles would have helped us

Just imagine if Tyrod Taylor was able to be redshirted in the 2008 like Beamer wanted. He would been under center in 2011...oh what could have been.

Logan was damn good in 2011, remember that. By far his best year as a Hokie. While Tyrod was probably a better option it doesn't take away how good Logan was that year.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

That better option could have made us 13-0 that's all I am saying....

Does that mean we can now blame Glennon for that miserable LSU-Bama rematch MNCG??????

The game against Miami would worry me though. Tyrod was fantastic but Logan was on fire that game. When he's on I don't know if I've ever seen a better quarterback at Tech.

"I'll put a quote here to distract you from my inane comment."-Me

By far his best year as a Hokie.

Agree, but he was inconsistent even then. He started off the year slow against weak competition, and then didn't show the same magic that he had in the Miami game to finish off the season. I think if Loeffler had the talent that the 2010 team had, this past season would have been pretty spectacular.

Can't wait for these new recruits to show up and start making their mark. Really like the young talent on this team, especially at the skill position.

That Boykins....
