So, yesterday news broke that the ACC is having to shuffle some 6 games because of a COVID outbreak on the Miami Hurricanes squad.
The team's coronavirus situation appears to have worsened since returning from Blacksburg, Va. The university has experienced a similar uptick in recent weeks. According to UM's COVID-19 dashboard, the school reports 1,060 cumulative cases since the start of the semester in August (74 cases per 1,000 people). It follows a nationwide trend.
Having just played them on Saturday, then this news breaking yesterday, hopefully our future games aren't impacted

Isn't this the second team that has had an outbreak right after playing us?
honestly though, I think the timeframe would be too quick for them to come to BB, get infected, then test positive, or show symptoms within 24-48 hours.
More likely the new cases already had it for a few days
I don't think so, we have been honest about our contract tracing and infections.
Miami was down 13 players for our game I think? Makes the loss even harder to swallow.
You watched the game- Corny could not adjust or move the ball in the 4th Q, and when Miami needed to - they easily drove down the field to take the lead. This VT team is not very good- at all.
They were one more OLman being out from having to cancel the game. And they were missing a couple key DLmen.
The fact that we could not wear them down in the trenches over the course of the game, and ended up seeing them absolutely dominate that phase in the 4th was just bad.
hey guys stop piling on! This team isn't bad! It's just frustrating, maddeningly inconsistent, and makes too many costly mistakes at inopportune times. But they're not a bad team!!!! /s
You /s but that's definitely true
LOL
it's cute that you think this team isn't bad. Let me tell you something about the ACC. It is arguably the single worst conference in the P5. Being an 8 win team in the ACC is mediocre at best. I know a lot of people think this team is average or middling and that might be true if we were in the SEC or B1G with our record. But we're not. We're in the ACC Coastal. Bad teams beat teams from this league every year. This league is full of bad teams. VT is one of them. If VT was in any other league in the P5 we would be 2-6 or 3-5 right now instead of 4-4. Heck there are some G5 leagues that VT would probably be 4-4 or worse in at the moment. With 3 games left we'll be lucky to win 2 of them to finish 6-5. In one of the weakest leagues in the FBS.
This team is beyond just frustrating and maddeningly inconsistent. This team is flat-out bad right now. And it's not getting any better.
Take a break, bro. Get some fresh air. Play a round of golf. I don't care. Something other than trying to browbeat your fellow hokies into acquiescing and vowing that this is the worst football team ever to step out on the field.
it's not the worst team to step out on the field. Don't over exaggerate what I'm saying.
Good teams aren't "frustrating, maddeningly inconsistent, or making costly mistakes at inopportune times" at several occasions throughout a season. Those are traits of a bad team. It's horribly ironic to me to say that this team is "frustrating, inconsistent, and has a propensity for shooting themselves in the foot more often than not" and then turn around and say that they're not a bad team. You're literally describing a bad team.
We have to be okay with that. Take off the O&M glasses. This team is bad. It's not the worst team to ever step on the field. I'll grant you that. It certainly isn't a good team (I really hope there's no argument there). Mediocre is debatable and probably depends on your definitions. To me, failing to win 7 or 8 games in the ACC is bad. In any other league that would be mediocre but this league is special.
We're not going to move forward if we can't recognize the reality. The reality is that this team is bad right now. I'm tired of the excuses and qualifiers.
I see you complain about people defending fuente/the team wayyyyyy more than i actually see people defend fuente/the team
I'm just delivering on a nearly 2 year old promise
I'll give you props for that promise. A leg for you sir.
Ironically just yesterday during Tech Talk Live on the VT Athletics Facebook live feed some were still defending Fuente and calling me a "fickle" fan when pointing out all the mistakes and problems with Fuente and this team.
VT's final 5 drives: 28 plays for 81 yards.
thought it was 50 something yards with sacks? either way, terrible. Wonder how much we would be singing praises of the D if Miami's entire O-line was not basically out. They probably would have rolled just like every other team on us.
Hmm, so how many of our players got infected by the canes then is the real pertinent question?
