""We actually gave them a free day away from us where we promised them as a staff we wouldn't talk to them about Virginia Tech," Wright said. "We wouldn't make them sit and watch film about Virginia Tech. We set up a walk outside. Dwayne wouldn't let me walk with them in fear that I might talk to them about Virginia Tech."

This headline is both hilarious and ridiculous at first read, but it's actually pretty reasonable. When I was a kid playing tournament tennis every weekend, I wouldn't talk to coaches or my parents for a full day after a bad match. Sometimes you just need some space, be it physical or mental. That gets compounded when you're living in a bubble.
Yes this for sure.
Never thought much about Jay Wright until this past weekend, but from all I've heard from him since our win, well, I think I really like the guy.
He's always seemed like a good guy. He took full responsibility for the violations that happened under him even if they were stupid and ticky tack infractions.
Beer and Basketball, it's what we do!
What about any of this is living in their head rent free? Seems like a coach that knows how to help his team bounce back.
I agree. As big as the win is for us, for them it likely will turn out to have been a blip on the radar. Their coach handled it with class and I'm sure they've moved on to the next game. Not like they'll be playing us again anytime soon.
They just scheduled to play loluva on 12/19 in MSG. I hope they crush the hoos.
I hope everybody crushes the 'hoos.
San Fran did!
