#1 - we've stopped caring about football if I had to create this thread on a Saturday, 1 full quarter in to the the noon games
#2 - who the hell was responsible for the time slots today? This noon lineup is trash

Actually the NC WCU game looks like a nice ass whooping to get us in the right frame of mind for tonight's game.
Ohio St-Mich St would like a word
Thats with three starting offensive linemen, one starting defensive end, 19 other players, 3 assistant coaches and their head coach out due to COVID....
what, you are putting up your lame 21-0 up against my 35-3? Whatever, neither will likely hold a candle to the 7:30 national embarrassment.
Early in the week I bet on the Coastal Carolina ML (over Liberty). Forgot about it and haven't been following the news. Was really confused when I checked my bets lip today why the hell I would ever pick Coastal over BYU. 😂
It's not a bad bet if you ask me (and you didn't)
It's part of a parlay so I won't know what they do with it til the weekends over.
You will either get your money back or that game will be taken off the parlay
Or I could lose the other part of the parlay and it's a moot point. LOLUVa FG with 47 seconds left in the first put them over the first quarter total (12.5). I bet the under, but BC woke up enough to get a 45 yard TD pass despite an otherwise ineffectual first quarter. Don't bet, kids.
Upon further review, I feel for the broadcasters today - this is a crap lineup card for today. There's only a few intriguing games on the entire slate (IMHO) - WVU@ISU, Indiana @ Wisconsin, BYU @ Coastal Carolina. If I'm the AD for either of those last two schools you gotta wonder what more of a bribe you could've given to ESPN/ABC to get the primetime coverage. These two schools needed the exposure to have any chance of getting in to the playoffs, but instead of a primetime cover they handed out a wonkey 5:30 start on ESPNU.
Indiana vs Wisconsin lost a lot of luster when the Indiana QB tore his ACL last week
Penix is hurt? That's too bad, he was balling out this year
No Penix no problem
Something something sack
Yeessssss fuck Wisconsin
Yes it's true. This team has no Penix.

Let's go Iowa State! Really hoping they can win a couple more games this season. Win against WVa and either the Big XII Championship or a bowl game and it would be their best season in over a century. Last conference championship was 1912.
They made a very good defense look bad today.
Took ND under 51.5. 3-0 at the end of the first? Looking good.
EDIT: FML. Notre Dame hits the over before the 3rd is even over.
FML Syracuse. 3 ND TDs in the last 3:20 of the first half. 24-7 Domers. Not great, Bob.
The acc title game will be unbearable this season. There are no winners either way
The aTm Auburn game was pretty good, though I was rooting for Auburn. That TD run by Nix in the first half was awesome.
OkSt TCU is close late. Hoping for TCU
Probably rooting for BYU against Coastal Carolina.
You know what I would love to see? If BYU beats Coastal today and Cincy beats Tulsa next week, I'd like to see BYU and Cincy play on the 19th for the fourth playoff spot.
Yeah I just logged on to say that TCU-Oklahoma State has been very entertaining.
Auburn had plenty of chances to win that game.
Tennessee's lack of success is about as head scratching as anybody else's in the country the past decade +. Had a half decent amount of expectations leading into this season... 2-5. Kind of like us, but with higher recruiting classes, larger fanbase, more money...but shittier results.
They share a similarly frustrating path to what I described as USCe's problem. Tennessee's recruiting has been awesome, if they were in the ACC... but when UGA and Florida are in your division, and you have a locked crossover with Bama, your top 15 classes don't go quite as far as they would in the Coastal. Life is relative in the recruiting world. Just did a quick check:
Tennessee's last 5 classes rank in the SEC: 7th, 7th, 8th, 7th, 7th.
Tennessee's last 5 classes rank nationally: 10th, 13th, 21st, 17th, 14th
That said, they have still been worse against other teams than they should have been during the last decade.
You're last point is the point. When there is so little separation, there's bound to be a time where you figure something out...or, maybe, at the end of the day, it really is all jimmys and joes 🤷♂️
Yeah they've had issues that go beyond talent for sure , but I think those comparisons between their national rank and the SEC rank tells a story of the kind of talent SEC teams face each week. Imagine landing a 10th ranked class and it being the SEVENTH best class in your conference that year. There isn't a situation in college football that's even close to comparable to it.
They have missed on a ton of talent, if you go back like 6 years and look at their #5 recruiting class, the top half of the class didn't make it to their junior year. It was atrocious how bad that class actually was. What's his nuts Jones and his staff were terrible at evaluating and just went with stars.
They have a lot more invested in coaching buyouts than we do. I mean, they paid Schiabona buyout and he never coached a game.
It hurt to hear Tyler Baron's name called with a sack for Tennessee,
Wtf bill roth calling byu on tv
Congrats Bill!!!
Wiscy better get their shit together. Down 14-3 with 8:30 left in the 3rd and threw a pick at the Indy 20 yard line.
Ugh, can't even enjoy WVU getting pounded because I know that's going to be us in about an hour.
Just turn the TV off and read a Dean Koontz book. That is what I am doing. Savoring the ISU win, the first Big XII Championship appearance in school history, and what I suspect is the most successful regular season in school history. Not going to let other things bother me.
Oh, and I made fresh roasted chestnuts as well as japchae - first attempt at ever cooking Korean. Chestnuts good, japchae pretty good. A little too salty, but will try again with the salt toned down.

Are we going to have a gameday thread?
Is anyone going to watch it?
Did we #MakeTheMove? No? Then "no."
Ill always be watching. Those are my boys through thick and thin.
Same. I feel like I'm going to a friend's execution, but I am still going out of respect for them
Guess you could start one. I think we're all pretty checked out.
Can we skip it? Or does this one fall in the "Other games" category based on interest? How many Hokies are watching tonight just to see how high the score might get?
I'm sure I'll glance at the score online once or twice, but have no intension of watching. Has been a good day and not going to spoil it.
Just came here to ask the same thing. I think we should have one. You never know!
We can start one if Clemson's 2nd string isn't in by the end of the first quarter.
Watching LOLuva handle BC, I don't think we have much chance of getting the cup back this year.
I dunno. We're one coach who knows how to use timeouts from going into halftime tied with Clemson. Question is how many players opt out after getting backstabbed by Fu this week. (Posted at halftime)
I mean they did give up something like 511 yards through the air if we actually show up we stand a chance
You really think our offense can do that?
This was before both hooker and BB went out. Going to have to be creative if it's KK next week but I'll always hope we can beat the boohoos.

Never figured it out until just now, QP had to transfer since Fuente couldn't figure out how to work with a QB with more then one letter initials. HH, BB,
QP, KK.....Wonder if Ed O is wishing he handled last year's win in 'Bama with a little more grace.
I really doubt he does. Doesn't seem like his personality to worry about the past.
PAC 12 gonna pac 12. Man usually I'd be loving all the struggle bus teams this year but it's hard to feel good when your team shit the bed big time this year.
The mighty Zips from akron snapped their 21 game losing streak against bowling green in dominant fashion
My betting weekend was crap. The one redeeming part was that I had a nice five leg parlay that would put me ahead on the weekend: Clemson, Tulsa, Iowa, Florida...and Wyoming. Wyoming who was playing a team holding FBS's longest active losing streak. Wyoming who lost by 1 point last night after I went to bed secure in some good news in the morning.
Don't bet, kids.
