He also didn't like Fuente being retained. /s
This needs more legs but don't want to bust 25. Can't handle any more bad luck
Dang. Hot take: I think while we will miss his ability at times, we are better as a team without him
I concur. Diarra just didnt seem to fit when he was on the floor....he either wanted to go too fast or too creatively. Quite a few turnovers in big situations.
Yeah, really thought he should be using his athleticism off ball instead of playing point
What is going on with my Hokies?!
EDIT: tired of getting jumped on for sharing. I shouldn't have come back here. I won't make that mistake again.
Ughhhhhhh
Source? Because that sounds like contrived bullshit when according to Young, Diarra "could return to team this season at any time."

So he's just taking some time off...
That's MY trying to be PC and not burn bridges. Textbook handling
Yeah dude wtf give a source before spewing this shit
Lololol weak af dude we just asked you to name a source
What did it say?
Just about Diarra not wanting to take Covid tests and opting out the season when CMY stated today that he could return as soon as this week.
Diarra has posted on IG about Covid tests but when the coach says he could return soon, you gotta go with that until proven otherwise.
from what limited tidbits I've seen posted, it seems like he would be allowed to rejoin the team if he desires, and of course follows the required COVID protocols - which it seems he is not interested in doing at this point. His option, his choice, and I just hope he stays healthy
Are you opting out, bro?
Dude we just asked you for a source to back up your alarming statement. There's literally nothing on Twitter to corroborate what you said. No need for such a dramatic exit.
So Twitter is the new arbiter of what's news? For what's true? I get the request for a source, but the attitude of some of you usually reasonable folks seems out of step with the TKP community I've been used to. I think Fuente is living inside some heads and causing less civil discourse in general, but that's just my opinion. Either way, citing a lack of Twitter gossip and nonsense is absurd, given that Twitter is packed with lies, misrepresentation and absolute bullshit. Give the guy a break and downvote me instead, I won't care in this instance.
When he says Twitter I'd bet he's referring to the plethora of reporters or VT news sources on the platform
I'm not going to downvote you because I actually agree that
But this guy said that one of our hoops players "Doesn't believe in COVID" and some other nonsense, so I did check on twitter to see if his nonsense matches up with Twitter's usual nonsense. And it was empty. Literally nary a tweet (from anyone, including the usual professional journalists) that matched up with what was said above.
So I stand by what I said.
It would help if you included a source when you shared. A lot of the time it seems as if you read something on TSL or another site and you share it without any context. That doesn't help folks here.
I don't even know why I clicked on this topic because I'm not really a basketball guy, but it was completely worth it for this gif. Thank you.
Through four games, his assist to turnover ratio 1:1 (9-9), he shot 1-8 from outside, shooting less then 70% from the line, 7.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.25 apg. Obviously not a large sample size but his time on the floor hit me as hectic and rushed. Give those 20 mpg to Cattoor and Cone.
Postgame tonight MY said he needs to get Cone off the ball to better utilize his skills and thinks Cattoor can play point more than he's been doing so far. I think he's still trying to hone down his rotations to make sure the guys who deserve time get it and it's made our offensive flow shaky at times.
Cone also missed the first 3 games of the year, so he is not quite as sharp and gelling with the team yet.
Well, if I'm being brutally honest here, based on what I've seen so far we aren't gonna miss him. But I do hope he's just taking some time to get his head right and can get back out there because the player I saw at KSU is a much better one than the one I've seen at VT so far. For whatever reason, he hasn't found his footing.
Would have been good to keep him around for depth but I liked what I saw with the ball in Radfords hands last night. Cattoor is an upgrade of Diarra on both ends of the floor and is criminally underrated on defense. Cone still getting his game back but I like where we're at with or withour Diarra.
Hot take: I really hope Diarra comes back either this year or next. He didn't quite mesh with the team yet, but you could really tell he had big-time game. Even though he had some bad turnovers in his few games, I think he is a good ball handler that could have really helped us out in ACC play.
With all that said, I am excited for Cone and Cattoor to get some solid minutes and continue to develop.
