Charlie Brewer transferring out of Baylor

Charlie Brewer, younger brother of Michael Brewer, announced today he's leaving Baylor and entering the portal.

Wouldn't that be an interesting 1-year addition to the QB room...

He was very highly touted at one point wasn't he?

I think he could help us a lot. I hope we are looking at him.

What's his QB draw game like?

πŸ˜‚. Nice. I was actually hoping we could get a guy on the squad that can throw the ball down the field.

Having a QB that could sling it around would be a complete revamp of an offense that has no real passing game outside of a bunch of smoke and mirrors.

Is coronavirus over yet?

You need receivers that can make contested catches an separate more often than no for these deep downfield dreams. Hendon and QP have the atm but what use is it really put too when you don't have a recognized deep threat

Neither of those guys were good dropback passers imo. Strong arm. Zero vision. Poor accuracy.

"I play real sports, not trying to be the best at exercising..." - KP

I agree. My point is no real receiving threat. Haven't had on near the level of cam or IAF. Big Play Tre maybe but he's not nearly as consistent a threat as those two were mainly IAF. As much as I loved the guy even he wouldn't be the NO1 somewhere else. He'd be a legit 2 or maybe a Co-1. I understand this is an unpopular opinion but hey.

I am not sure this kid should be playing football anymore. He has had like 8 concussions. I worry about his long term health.

I thought so, too, but apparently the big one that made headlines (Sugar Bowl) was a neck injury, not a concussion. His total is 3 concussions.

Not providing commentary here on if that's too many or not, just that the media assumed concussion and ran with it before it was verified.

My first thought when I saw the transfer news was "well there's next year's qb." We've got the big brother connection, and if Fuente stays, he's got the Baylor connection.

Yikes

Free Hugh

Why yikes. Seriously curious- the guy is likely better than any qb currently on our roster. Or was the yikes regarding the Fuente Baylor connection?

"I play real sports, not trying to be the best at exercising..." - KP

See him play all the time reminds me of his brother in how they play tough but has a lot of limitations.

Good passer or not?

"I play real sports, not trying to be the best at exercising..." - KP

He has some decent accuracy just lacks some of the physical tools to make some throws .

I still think if big bro didn't break his collar bone we would have had a chance to sweep the Ohio State home/away with him. Would have been insane and given Beamer a ton of momentum

so what you're saying is #TX2VT after all?

#TXtx2VT, apparently

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

I could see Fuente bringing him in wherever he is coaching next year.

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
β€œI served in the United States Navy"

My wife is a Baylor grad and we watch most of their games. Brewer has definitely had his ups and downs. Upside is he is super tough because he takes a beating every game. Can also extend plays with his feet. Downside is that his decision making seems to have gotten worse since Rhule left. He's had a down year overall. He and BB are comparable in my mind. If I had to choose between the two for next year, give me BB.

Must run in the family.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

Beat me to it. Michael was a damn warrior. That guy played his nuts off and took a beating for our team

What recent quarterback for the Hokies has not taken a beating for our team?

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

Tyrod?

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

Does it count as recent when we've played 10 full seasons since he left?

Stop reminding me of how old I am!

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

It doesn't. I was helping make his point.

Drew Harris, Dwayne Lawson

I do art stuff.

lol...savage

Onward and upward

Drew Harris was a RB. But still a good burn.

I mean we've played TEs at both OL and QB. Positions don't me anything these days, right?

Plus a TE returns our punts. Why not plug a future hole in the OL with a RB?

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

If Fuente is here next, him and Cornfu will screw him up.

Hokies, Local Soccer, AFC Ajax, Ravens

Given the trajectory he's already on I would fear for Brewer's life.

Hey Baylor I will trade you a Head Coach for a QB, deal?

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

So remember that guy that stole a profile pic from a retired Texas weatherman and started posting random BS on Twitter about our coaching situation?

He's back:

I mean, there has to be a high probability, right?

"Take care of the little things and the big things will come."

That guy is the worst.

so diabolical. I kind of admire it.

Wtf does "Sic 'Em" have to do with Hokie or Baylor football?

If we know the person running the account is a fraud, why are we expanding the platform by resharing here?

He told Brett freaking McMurphy that Fuente staying was wrong. He's certainly got some balls.

At first I thought it was just a sociopathic troll, but he actually blocks people and deletes tweets when he is called out for being wrong. He truly believes everything he says.

or thats just one more step in his mental Trolldom. Either way it still makes good comedy.

I feel really bad for any QB under Fuente. I'd love to have Brewer, but Fuente's system is going to wreck this kid's body.

We went from QB's getting wrecked because of bad Oline play under Coach "quick feet", to wrecked by design.

My civic duty is done for today....

If he is coming to VT, slot him behind BB and Kadum, and let him and Bullock earn their way up the depth chart. Not sure of the wisdom in Brewer coming here to run Corny's staple play the QB power run.

Now we just need someone to expose his lack of connection to knoxnews.

And . . . maybe someone did, because his profile pic has changed and that part of his bio is gone.

Muted and blocked him before he knew who I was. #CHECKMATE

This guy really pisses me off because this is actual legitimate fake news that intentionally tries to muddy waters which does nothing but inject confusion and distrust in actual news reporters and agencies.

He deserves to be called out, he deserves to be silenced, and quite frankly the people who he's tried linking himself to should be able to sue his ass for trying to capitalize on their image and likeness.

I don't care.

I agree, but this thread in general is a dumpster fire because people continue to give attention to a fake Twitter profile for whatever reason.

Identifying/discussing the troll might stop someone from using them as a source/unwittingly posting false information.

Maybe embedding the tweets should cease in favor of screenshots that don't give him more views.

In regards to Brewer transferring to Tech, I don't see the wisdom in it for either party but I've been wrong before.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Yeah, I'll go for a screenshot next time. That way it won't disappear when he deletes it when a legitimate source proves him wrong.

Then don't comment and create unnecessary noise.

Screw that! That is how I feel! It's my opinion on the state of the program at this time. All of you can shove my noise where the sun don't shine. I pay my 25 cents (probably a buck now!) and I'm allowed to play the game. You act like a thread never went on a tangent.

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

Nothing is wrong with your opinion, but maybe actually contribute something to the discussion? I didn't find the idea of Brewer transferring here particularly exciting or likely. But saying "I don't care" is just noise. Below is from the Community Guidelines:

You don't have to be an essayist, but a few well-thought out sentences generally contributes to the discussion better.

He IS going to Utah. This article says Brewer will compete with him and three other guys for the starting position.

In Utah, you can have multiple wives and multiple quarterbacks

This is what I really came here for. Talk about a connection. Your next VT QB.

Shane showed more personality in that video than Fuente has in 5 years

Bingo and an already deeper connection to the fan base

Cool. He can put out all the Twitter and IG videos he wants, if he's 5-6 in Year 5 like Fuente, nobody is going to care.

South Carolina wouldnt let him get to 5-6 in year 5 (or is it Year 1) if he is performing like that. Although this year 5-6 would have been a major upgrade at South Carolina.

It's the Beamer in him. All the best, to Coach Shane. Hopefully within a dozen years, he brings excellence back to VT. But for now, I hope he builds himself up as a excellent HC at South Cackalacky
