HOKIES!!!

You forgot Trey Edmunds (he is on IR but still part of the Steelers)

9 of the 14 teams have Hokies. That is pretty impressive...

I think you misspelled Terrell.

I think you should just take care of the browns for both of us and let the real squads settle it on the field.

WFT fans all which Greg Stroman was on the list. Then we wouldn't have to hold our breath anytime a team punts to us ... smh

what happened with him? injury or just cut?

Danny is always open

He's been on IR most of the season

Took a massive hit on his first kick return attempt of the season.

Duane brown with not the greatest performance but the OL struggled badly against LA today

Tremaine looked pretty good!! He is a beast. He was very excited at the end of the game.

And somehow with three minutes left in the third washington is making this a game after it looked like tampa had found their groove early

Really want WFT to win so Heinicke's biggest accomplishment is beating Tom Brady instead of VT*** ,😂

***Heinicke never beat VT and not Tampa either

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

Heinicke never beat VT 😃

I had fooled myself into thinking an NFL talent made the defense look silly

He's better with a mullet. It is god damn science.

For anyone wondering what positions our boys are coaching:

  • Cody Grimm - Tampa Bay Defensive/Special Teams Assistant
  • Nick Rapone - Tampa Bay Safeties Coach
  • Nick Sorensen - Seattle Secondary & Nickle Specialist

But they stupidly traded him away. Go Browns???

Dude had his eyes on the RB and only seemed to see the 300 lb wrecking ball coming his way at the last second. Dishing pain to the Squeelers makes my day.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Great to see LT3 finally doing well. We all knew that he could make it at the next level and looks like he's made it. Unfortunately he's playing for the WFT instead of the Giants. We could use him as a TE instead of Engram :(

WOOOO!!! 3 of our players plus 3 coaches advanced to round 2!! And we know that one Hokie will be playing in the AFC Championship. Now we need the Packers to win so we have a Hokie in the NFC Championship too.

I hate that I didn't know that Nijman was on GB's roster.

Tremaine had a great game last night! He was all over the field. Al and Cris were singing his praises all night! WOOO HOKIES! Maybe next week he will be fighting against Wyatt.

As a ravens and Hokies fan. It was bitter sweet. Tremaine was basically spying Lamar and took away his run game threat. He played really well.

Pretty confident mathieu just stomped on higgins after the play but the refs in this game have blinders on it seems

Feel bad for brees if this is how it ends for him he's been one hell of a QB over the years and you wonder if his rib injury is what's killing his ability to throw it down the field. Arians looking like he's NFC champ bound!

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

I had the same thoughts about Brees. If that was his last game (ever and at the SuperDome) you know that was the worst way to go out... You could tell that he still wasn't right. 11 broken ribs and a punctured lung are hard to overcome.

I would be a lot happier for Arians (and Cody Grimm) if the Bucs had a different QB

2 time Longwood grad married to a Hokie.

So we need Buffalo to win next week so we can have Hokies on both sides of the Super Bowl. NFC is covered with GB or TB win.

I think the Bills have a good chance of winning.

I am pulling for them all the way!

Its all going to come down to whether mahomes can play or not no way they go through with Henne starting. Itll be really interesting to see how quickly they try to get mahomes back or not.

Mahomes got injured? I didn't watch that game.

He got a concussion...

2 time Longwood grad married to a Hokie.

That will definitely make the AFC championship interesting.

He also seemed to have a case of turf toe that had him hobbled a good portion of the game. That could actually be harder for him to get past next week, especially with how he was skipping passes since he couldn't push off on that foot.

I agree...

2 time Longwood grad married to a Hokie.

Brandon Flowers suggested that the concussion didn't come from a helmet to helmet or helmet to ground part of the hit, but from getting hit in the chin by Wilson's elbow/forearm which knocked him out briefly (I haven't seen a replay since Flowers' assessment). In terms of concussions I've seen it seems on the minor end, but all concussions are serious and can take varying amounts of time for recovery. I just have seen plenty of concussions where the person was not capable of jogging to the locker room or tweeting coherently within minutes/hours of being concussed.

To my untrained eye, it looked like he had passed out due to the defender having him across the neck then his forehead bounced off the turf when he went down. He was out on the field for a bit. Then when he got up, he was really woozy and wobbly.

2 time Longwood grad married to a Hokie.

I agree, seemed more like his oxygen got cut off with that sleeper hold more so than when his head hit the ground. Postgame they said he was trying to come back in the game but NFL Concussion Protocols wouldn't allow it.

I was going to say the same. The arm around his neck as he was twisting to the ground looked like it caused him to blackout. I just didn't realize that could cause a concussion.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

It may not have, he apparently has already passed a large number of the tests to come out of the protocols. The treat any situation like that as if it was a concussion now.

No, we need the Chiefs with a healthy Mahomes to win next week to maximize the chances of the Packers NOT winning the Super Bowl, which is my primary desire at this stage.

My personal goal is for Brady NOT to win...

2 time Longwood grad married to a Hokie.

Well I think Mahomes being in the Super Bowl is the safest option for both of our desires lol.

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

But we want the Packers to win the Super Bowl so that conflicts with Mahomes being healthy enough to play. Regardless, I want Mahomes to recover nicely. Take his time, let the Bills have a chance at the Superbowl again. It has only been 20+ years...

Go Pack Go.

I'm on the Bills bandwagon from here on out. Edmunds has proven his draft status, and then some.

Having been a Bucs fan since the Dungy days, this is just the coolest shit ever. I can't believe Pats fans got to do this like every year. Having Hokies on staff with the goat leading is crazier than I could ever imagine. I don't think we can beat Rodgers again, but we're playing with house money right now.

I hate Brady almost as much as Dallas, but this still made me laugh

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

Here's another fun stat to think about.

Career wins against NFC teams in the post-season:

Drew Brees = 8
Tom Brady = 8

Now that is hilarious. As much as I don't like Tom there is no doubt that he has maintained his conditioning and knows how to play the game.

NFC:
Yosh Njiman vs Bruce Arians, Cody Grimm, Nick Rapone

AFC:
Tremaine Edmunds

Brady has started 18% of all Super Bowls

If you have seen 6 Super Bowls in your life, you've probably seen Brady play.

This is Brady's 10th Super Bowl in 20 years.

Brady is 19-4 in playoff home games, and Tampa Bay will become the first team to host the Super Bowl.

Whats even more impressive is that this was without question the toughest road to the SB Brady has ever had to traverse.

First time he has played in the Wild Card Round and made the Super Bowl. Beat the 1 & 2 seeds on the road as well. This was not a relaxing home stand after running through a weak AFC East. Not taking away from those other appearances (and wins), just this one stood out most to me.

Punk ass sequence for Buffalo there at the end after the big sack on Allen. Buffalo OL went too far and Allen throwing the ball at 57's face after the sack was some weak shit.

To be fair it was a chippy game on both sides, but they lost their cool there big time.

What? There is plenty of blame to go around for both sides on that sequence.

Allen wouldn't have lightly thrown the ball in his face if 57 didn't tackle him well after the play was blown dead. Isn't exactly good sportsmanship to so blatantly rough the opposing QB when a game is pretty much over.

The Bills OL was trying to defend his QB, who was just tackled really late and then had said late-tackler get up and stand over him talking trash. Might not have even seen the little flip of the ball, just the late hit and the subsequent standing over him. If someone did that to a Hokie QB I would hope that one of our OL wouldn't just stand there and watch.

Both sides were out of line and there was a lot of chippyness all game long.

He tackles him because he was refusing to go down and trying to make a play, he didn't need to finish the tackle, but you missed the key moment. He got up and stood over Allen because Allen threw the ball at his face.

There was plenty of blame to go around that game, but that sequence was Bills frustration gone wild which is why they had four or five personal foul flags on the play to KC's one.

"you missed the key moment. He got up and stood over Allen because Allen threw the ball at his face"

I didn't miss this. I acknowledged it my post. And he threw the ball at Okafor because he clearly tackled Allen long after the play was blown dead. You're acting like the whistle doesn't mean anything. You can play to the echo of the whistle but you cannot take someone to the ground long after the whistle just because they refuse to go down. You even admitted that he didn't need to finish the tackle, but 57 wasn't even touching Allen when they blew it dead. He didn't "finish the tackle", he literally took at least two steps and then hit Allen, all after it was blown dead. That was classless.

You pointed out that only one Chief was flagged, but Okafor was the one that got flagged specifically for this.

The game was already pretty chippy at that point and that was just the last straw that set off the melee. Hell, a KC player literally threw a punch at that Bills O-lineman earlier and wasn't caught (new to Twitter and I cannot figure out how to imbed).

https://twitter.com/danfetes/status/1353500084130951169?s=19

I agree that the Bills were letting out their frustration at that point and should have controlled themselves better. My whole point was that it is pretty ridiculous to act like this was all on the Bills. Plenty of classlessness was going around.

"Nope, launch him into the sun and fart on him on the way up"

"11-0, bro"

We agree that the game was chippy all around, and Chris Jones was very lucky to avoid an ejection for that early punch. I don't even need to click the link I know what the video is.

Where we disagree is on that specific sequence. I do not think the late hit was very egregious (it wasn't even called, and rightfully so imo). It was not a hard hit, and it was not that late in the context of an AFC championship game where the QB never stops acting like he is trying to make a play. That kind of hit happens almost every game to running backs where they get stood up and run backwards and it is rarely flagged, even when it is taken to the ground after the whistle. I also just rewatched a video of the event, and 57, as I suspected, was not even called for the late hit, but for the unsportsmanlike conduct after the play.

The whole thing was stupid and ideally shouldn't happen in professional sports, but I was only commenting on the Bills during that sequence and afterwards where I think they let the emotions of the game boil over (a punch thrown on KC's next offensive snap as well). I totally agree that both teams were taking it too far for most of the game.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Okafor's late hit.

Seems to me that maybe the league told the officials in both games to swallow their whistles because they let a lot of stuff go in both games (i.e. pass interference that isn't a penalty for 3.5 quarters until it suddenly is when the game is on the line).

Bills let their frustration get the best of them, but the officials could have done a better job of not letting it get to that point. They even mentioned on the broadcast earlier in the game that the officials pulled Mathieu and another KC player aside and warned them to cut out the chippy bullshit.

End the end, the better team won, and none of this will matter in two weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if the officiating is a little tighter than this weekend, though.
