Comments
Watched OSU and Iowa last night. Wow, both teams really filled the bucket. Iowa went cold and OSU remained warm to hot to seal the deal. Sure glad my wife likes basketball and football.
By the way, Let's Go Hokies, Beat scUM.!
It was a really good game. I was a little surprised at how physical Ohio State was. I had expected them to be athletic but have trouble banging underneath.
Oregon losing to Washington State was also a really good game. Wazzu was able to ice the game at the line, hitting 6 of 8 free throws in the last thirty seconds. I think there were like 15 points scored in the last minute between the two teams.
Rutgers also continues to surprise me. Didnt watch it but they beat Minnesota last night.
The biggest upset last night had to be Utah beating Arizona. They took a stick to the Wildcats.
So Gonzaga and everybody else.
I agree that is likely a done deal. They just have all the pieces on both ends of the floor.
73 is the fewest points they have scored this year.
Topped 110 twice,
Topped 100 three times,
Topped 90 TWELVE times
They only have 4 players averaging in double figures but those 4 score 64.2 points per game. They still get nearly 30 points a game from the 5-10 spots and the tenth guy gets 8.3 minutes per game. The top guys are playing between 28-30 per game.
It's crazy how easy they make things happen. Even scarier, the only non-Top 10 team to score more than 75 points on them was Portland. Gonzaga won that game 116-88. WVU is the only team to have kept Gonzaga from winning by double digits 87-82. They have won 14 straight by double digits now.
They have an unbelievable front court with Timme and Kispert (who has been there for like 100 years). Suggs is unbelievable as well but starting to cool off a bit. If you wanted to really pick nits on how they could lose, I'd say they're a bit shallow and only play 7 which with college refs could *maybe* be problematic, and they allow more threes than they take. In a one-off tournament, if the other team gets hot enough you might make them sweat a bit. I think it is likely to be a Baylor-Zaga war for the championship though.
Texas was so damn sloppy down the stretch against Baylor. Then in sets, Baylor can move the ball like nobody's business.
Radford broke 100 points tonight beating South Carolina Upstate 102-66
#10 Alabama lost to #18 Missouri
#23 Kansas lost to #17 WVU.
#5 Houston should not have bothered today. With 6:09 still to play they are up 102-37 on Our Lady.
After today Duke 6, Kansas 7, Kentucky 11 and UNCheat 6 will have lost a combined 31 games. (Duke and UNCheat play tonight so one finishes with 7)
Duke Down.
More ranked losses:
#19 Wisconsin lost to #12 Illinois
#6 Texas loses to RV OK ST
Right now #21 UCLA down 30-20 to USC.
That's 13 of the Top 25 with losses this week with Texas losing twice. Three more ranked teams play tomorrow but I don't expect them to lose.
Loving it
At this rate and considering Coach K's position on the season already, they would likely decline even if they get an invite.
