Virginia Tech Baseball Commit In The Hospital Fighting For His Life

TR Williams & possible Guillian - Barre syndrome

The [Facebook] post states on Sunday, the family took TR to UVA Medical, where doctors said they believed TR has Guillain-Barre syndrome, an illness that causes your immune system to attack your nerves.

Williams said his future Hokie is now on a breathing tube in the hospital. The post goes on to say TR would like his friends to know that he loves every one of them, and asks to pray for TR.

Thoughts and prayers for this young man from up here in the Valley.

That is terrible. I don't know much about G-B, but lately we have been binge-watching House MD (having been big fans watching it weekly when it first aired), and in almost every episode one of the early differential diagnoses is Guillain-Barre syndrome, so you know it's rough.

It's rumored to be what killed Alexander the Great and what actually put FDR in the wheelchair.

It's fatal in 1 out of 20 cases.

We just started up House again and it annoys me that they had to replace the theme song on streaming services

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Wait, what???

The rights to the song didn't keep so on Hulu, Netflix, and Prime (whichever has it now) it's some generic song that is close but not at all the same quality.

Many other shows have this problem. Top Gear is pretty bad about it as well as Scrubs with the various songs they use during episodes.

And this is why Cold Case will never come to streaming services.

There are a few notable NFL players who have been diagnosed with G-B, notably Mark Schlereth after his retirement and Travis Frederick, who sat out a year and then returned to start 16 games and make the pro bowl in 2019 before retiring. It is a serious diagnosis if that is indeed the case here, but it is not without some hope!

all the best wishes to TR and his family in this time
