Yes, relation to Pierson Prioleau, for those wondering. PJ is his son.
*Recalls when Pierson last played for the Hokies*
I was having such a good day thinking I wasn't getting old, too...
I know what you mean. I was talking to some local Hokies about Will Furrer and was met with blank, confused stares.
Will Furrer? Dude, you must be in my age cohort.
I probably have five or six copies of his rookie card.
But honestly can't remember him playing. Deshazo was the first I can actually remember.
DeShazo was my freshman year QB.
Same here
Team Al Clark / Dave Meyer / Nick Sorensen reporting for duty. Yes, Nick Sorensen... look it up youngins
DeShazo was starting when I was 4 months old.
DeShazo was starting when I was in graduate school.

Will Furrer turned a certain bowl team into the nations best 5-6 team in 1990...yet he somehow was on the Dallas Cowboys preseason roster in 1992.
Poor Maurice got his tires slashed after we lost to WVU 16-7 and he was awful that day (I was there)-his was an up and down career but he did start the bowl streak. And the old Miami coach (Dennis Erickson) could never pronounce his name properly.
Erm...good times!?!?
I will always remember 2-8-1 in 1992, the last time we had a losing reco... wait.
Sorry, I had that memorized for so long I tend to forget.
My last year in Blacksburg. Ah, I remember it well. Actually, it was a pretty good time as I had no interest in VT football whatsoever back then.
SO and JR year of HS here
I wonder if his Grand Cherokee is still parked in the bank drive thru on Main Street Thus - Sat nights.
I was indoctrinated into Hokie football from a young age π
I had Lit class with Furrer. That's all I'm saying.
That was my first mental question. Heck of a get probably. His dad was involved in the NFL for around 20 years as either a player or a coach.
LETS GO!
REP THE STATE!!
2UP2DOWN
PWO?
Nice!
Damn his son is gonna be playing for us now? This really helps emphasize that this year is my 20 year reunion, fucking youths need to get off my lawn...
A quick wiki scan shows PJ is one of three brothers. Legacy with brothers. Good sign.
One of three brothers with initials PJ, at that.
If they all play here, the equipment guy is gonna have fun with that one
Looks like Pierson raised his family close to Blacksburg - PJ is a local kid....right down the road in Radford.
Yep. Dad was DC for old Radford High for several years. Very good coach and extremely well respected.
Side note: Sergio Render was the OL coach as well.
Erik Chapman was the starter my first two years. That's right, I had to look it up to make sure I was spelling "Erik" correctly. Oddly enough I wasn't too crazy about his new coach in 1987, I'm pretty sure he ended up averaging more than one interception per game that year. Of course that might have been caused by them actually throwing the ball once Dooley left.
Darn yutes with your Sorensens and Clarks...

Same for me as well-
Awwwww, you guys. When I was in undergraduate school, the only QB that anyone might remember was Don Strock. Uhhh, yep, I'm old.
I'm not QUITE that old though I do remember watching a certain defensive lineman get 23 sacks in my freshman year . (Bruuuuuuuuuuuuce!);
And being in the field in Lane North when we tore down the goalposts there after a 48-0 shellacking of the Hoos-followed by the Hokies stating home for bowl season -snubbed by the Peach bowl for an 8-3 UNCheat despite us being 9-2 and then having lost to UVA the week before above mentioned game! (no- I'm not still bitter about that at all LOL)
You're just a little younger than I am. Cyrus Lawrence was there when I was, and Bruce came along my last year.
For those who are not old enough to know, it's pronounced: Pray-Low
I thought it was pronounced Kevin?
So many great things about this commit - besides the legacy connection from a great all-conference player, his dad had 10 years of NFL experience and a Superbowl ring.
But the fact that he calls out continuing his academic career and VTPamplin shows this kid is built right. Excited about this get. Welcome PJ!
Wait, isn't Pierson the Director of Player Development?
yes, I would have expected him to come here.
So with all the loving of a legacy player and all the reminiscing about the good old days by people (like me) no mention of how good of a recruit is he? Listed as unrated as a WR or athlete and has no star ranking, so I have no idea if he is great, good, mediocre ...
How about: "Destined for greatness?"
Well, this is one way to get former players onto campus...
Nice
Welcome to the Hokie family (although, I guess you already are a family member.).
.
My question is, when are the Fuller brothers going to step up to the plate and start delivering (offspring)?
