Whit Named to Coalition Academy

Virginia Tech athletics director Whit Babcock was named to the Coalition Academy, a first of its kind mentorship program pairing influential athletic directors with minority football coaches, as announced by The National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches (NCMFC) on Thursday.

The Coalition Academy will further the NCMFC's mission of preparing, promoting, and producing minority coaches at all levels of competition given the well-documented inequities minority coaches experience. In other words, the NCMFC wants the best candidates selected regardless of color, race, or sexuality.

NCMFC is being spearheaded by former Whit disciple Reed-Francois.

Huge honor for Whit and will indirectly help us from a recruiting/coaching standpoint. We now have an in-lane on several high-level-minority coaches at our disposal.
