Charlottesville is going to burn to REM's "It's the end of the World as We Know It." There is not enough Zima and White Claw in the world for them to drown the sorrow of us beating them at their own game.

I don't understand your scoring. Why is Women's and Men's soccer worth more point (2 and 2.5 respectively)?
I didn't follow it that closely but I thought the winner of the head to head regular season series in each sport got 1 point and if the games were split or tied each got 0.5. If there was no head to head, like track and field or golf, the higher finisher in the ACC Championship got the point.
Is that not how it works?

My reading of the scoring is that each regular season win in soccer counts as a full win. Soccer is also screwed up as there was a fall season and a spring season and a friendly, so we wound up playing UVA 4 times this academic year.
If the point only goes to a series winner and the friendly counts we get the full point.
By that rule, the score is 10-10 with baseball outstanding and no points from Women's Basketball, so only 21 varsity sport matchups.
If the friendly doesn't count, it's 9.5-10.5 UVA with baseball outstanding and the conference championship tiebreakers breaking Men's Indoor and Outdoor Track to VT and Women's Swimming and Diving to UVA, with several championships outstanding.

I know almost nothing about lax except that people who know about it call it "lax". With that said:
Even though the women's game contains almost none of the checking/physicality of the men's version, they still play fast; still play with the same ball; still run around swinging sticks.
Why on earth are these athletes not wearing helmets?
Ps: LGH!! Any win in any sport over that school is a good win.π¦

Wait a minute. We are 5-10 and ranked? How many schools play women's lacrosse? Or is the ACC so super dominant that we are getting all these quality loss brownie points that lower SEC teams do in football? Actually, I do agree with quality loss points. I mean losing by 3 to Clemson in football is a lot more impressive to me than beating Eastern Kentucky by 20, but still. 5-10 is just ... huh, what?

17-9 Hokies last 20 minutes. Hokies have NEVER won in Charlottesville.
Under 10 and UVA has come on strong, 18-12 Hokies.
Under 5 minutes 19-13 Hokies.
HOKIES WIN IN CHARLOTTESVILLE!!!
HOKIES win with last goal this beautiful no look behind the back score.
I'm good with being a lacrosse school.
It's going to take some serious work (the new funding push might help). This was teams only ACC win this year and they finished 5-10.
If you gotta win one, this is the one to win.
Oh yeah, we aren't close. But I like lacrosse and I'm fine with VT getting better at it.

That's just salt in the football wound. I forgot they ended the Commonwealth Clash, curious if anyone has been keeping score on the side.
Anyone know why they ended it? I assumed it was canceled in 2020 b/c of Covid, but it looks like it is a permanent thing.
It was sponsored by a corporation - not sure who, and (IMO) they dropped it because LOL was losing.
Virginia Lottery, I believe?
Figures....... losers.......
I have it at UVA 13.5 to 11 with baseball as the only outstanding point.
How? Tech won in football, basketball, softball, track and field, lacrosse.

By the new math, if the Hokies win the baseball series this weekend and hold serve on the remaining ACC championships, we win the Clash.

Wins over LOLUVa > Losses to LOLUVa
doesn't matter the event
Except for the Fulmer Cup, we don't want more of those trophies
Win vaults the women into the top 25.

I count 111 women's lacrosse teams, with 3 in the top 20 with losing records.
Start that ACC ACC it just means more chant on up.
