Keeley went 24-7 with 1.12 ERA in 33 appearances (30 starts), with 25 complete games. 194 IP, 96 H, 52 BB for 0.76 WHIP and a whopping 288 K. Opponents only batted 0.144 against her.
Well deserved, Keely!

She better have the votes for 1st Team All American. She deserves it.
288 strikeouts in 194 innings? Holy moly.
She had multiple 7 inning games with more than 13 strikeouts.
6th most strikeouts in a season
6th highest K/IP ratio in a season
t-4th lowest OBA in a season
t-4th most shutouts in a season
What are these records for? School records? ACC records?
If you look at the NCAA stats for D1 pitchers who have pitched over 180 innings, there are only 5. Rochard ranks 3rd in ERA among those five. No idea on competition level for the top two pitchers. She is also tied for first in shutout games with 13.
School records.
edit: If postseason stats get included, she will probbably move into 5th on strikeouts, she needs 2. She has no chance of breaking top 4. Tincher was just that good (349, 504, 617, 679)
That's insane. Tincher was unstoppable. Still can't believe she didn't make the Olympic team.
She got her revenge. Also, if I'm not mistaken, she wasn't even the best pitcher in college softball that year. I think it was Cat Oosterman
Osterman and Jenny Finch are regarded as the best softball pitchers ever, but Tincher definitely should have made the Olympic team.
The first year she was eligible they did not have softball in the Olympics if my memory serves correctly.
In '08, when she would have been eligible, the pitching staff of the US team included Cat Osterman, Jennie Finch, and Monica Abbott; arguably the best three softball pitchers to have ever played.
On a roster of 15, do you really carry 4 pitchers?
You're right, I had forgotten that Finch was still playing alongside Osterman. Pretty invincible lineup with those two pitchers.
15 on a roster? what? that's insanely low even if pitchers bat for themselves. I also don't know how a team can have a bullpen (is there a better term for a female sport??) with only 6 reserves. Granted, most starters are probably expected to go the full 7 innings.
Eh, maybe I just need to learn more about softball strategy.
the only relievers in softball would be other pitchers that are starters as well. You routinely see a pitcher come in to finish a game in double headers after they have pitched the first game.
Rosters are smaller for other sports as well. I believe a World Cup roster has 22, but an Olympic roster can only have 18. Might be a bit off, but you get the idea.
Edit: for soccer there are alternates. I think 3 or 4. One of them is almost always a 3rd goalie. I would assume softball uses at least one spot for an extra pitcher.
