Cole Beck ACC 100 Meter Champion

Cole Beck, a VT junior, won the 100 meters race at the 2021 Spring Outdoor Track & Field Championships at NC State. His winning time was 10.11 seconds, tied for 14th in the NCAA's this year, going into the NCAA Nationals. He's concentrating solely on track now, after a couple of years also playing on the football team.

Wish we had found a way to get him on the field for KO returns...that's a blazing fast time. Congrats, Cole!

If last year is our sample set then I doubt he's less qualified than anyone else on our return ST.

Well, considering Herbert handled most KR's (and very well) and Beck had zero of the lateral moves needed for PR, I doubt this is correct.

After viewing Beck's Blacksburg H.S football highlights, I wouldn't say "zero" lateral moves. Also, He was Virginia All State Kick Return Team.

Yep, that 4.29 sec. forty yard time he ran in high school could use a little work.

Not sure if you think I was speaking negatively. I wasn't. He did not have the best start out of the blocks, so yes I think he could improve what is already an all ACC time.

Actually Beck agrees with you. He's stated that he has to work more on his 1st 50 yards.

Some taller guys chop step at the start to get vertical quicker. I never liked that approach...keep your head down and forward for the first 15, then look up and roll...but looks like they've got him up and out of the crouch in 8 yards or so. And then he drops the hammer and gets separation by the 40-60 mark.
