Scott who is from Zimbabwe will be the only golfer representing the continent of Africa and will fly and African flag for the Olympics.
(Edit) looks like he will be only golfer in opening ceremonies from Africa. There will be other golfers once competition starts from Africa.

Very cool. Good luck to him!
The only golfer from the whole continent?!??
That surprised me too...the funniest thing about this that few people may know is that Rory Sabbatini (who is from South Africa) became a citizen of Slovakia (his wife is from there) just so he could compete in the Olympics since he isn't one of the top two golfers from South Africa (previously, every country only gets two golfers if they are competing). That didn't quite turn out the way he planned.
Also, what happened to VT's own Brendon DeJonge? He's also from Zimbabwe...wonder why he isn't playing. I know he isn't playing well currently (he's barely even a PGA Tour player anymore) but since when has that stopped anyone from competing.
COVID has really screwed up most golf tournaments around the world, they just aren't able to qualify. It could change he currently is just the only one.
Doesn't make sense, there are a ton of good South African players
Bezudenhout, Grace and Garrett Higgo won in your like three weeks ago.
Bezudenhout and Higgo are competing for South Africa.
It sounds wrong because it is. Vincent is the only golfer from Zimbabwe, but not the entire African continent. The full Olympic field is linked below.

Shocking to me, I'd expect two of Oosthuizen, Schwartzel and Grace to represent South Africa-maybe they declined to play
