Some idiot asked him the other day if he had heard from VT, he said no. So maybe he is upset about not getting in? Maybe he is taking a break for a little while?
Hopefully he has a good second semester at prep school and enrolls for summer.
I have no idea, I personally hope its nothing. Like a few members on here had said we really need him. We don't have a whole lot of depth now that exum and fuller is gone

I came back to this thread thinking he had just gotten injured, tired, etc...

that fucking sucks. I hope he doesn't really walk away from football though. there must be some schools he can get into that would love to have him.

Thinking about sending an email to Doc Holliday. Marshall loves Non-qualifiers and they treat their players right.
Not a bad idea. Having Donaldven Manning and Jefferson would make Marshall plenty dangerous.
If you don't I will. Marshall is my other team and they have great success with non-qualifiers. Randy Moss comes to mind

Without Cequan, our depth at corner is going to be dangerously low. I know everybody has him pegged to be a receiver, but I would not be surprised if Javon Harrison ended up at corner. Especially considering the numerous receiver commits we he have (and likely adding I. Ford), and the fact that Torrian Gray was Javon's primary recruiter.
Harrison is a WR all the way and a must get. He's a game changer.
Well... Torrian is his recruiter, and Rivals lists him as a DB. If you look at our roster, and this recruiting class, you'll see that we have A LOT of WR's and not many reasonable options at CB
Harrison will be a Wr, that's what tech recruited him for. He Is one of the best athletes in the country and we don't have much talent on the offensive side of the ball. Everyone knows that. We will have enough at CB. We NEED offense, we will always have defense even if we miss a guy or 2
I believe there was a spell there where some misses on defensive recruiting put us in a bad situation in terms of personnel. I hate to think about if Bud wasn't handling the reins during that stretch.
Having him would've been good, no doubt, as this class is rather lacking in true corners, but I think we'll be alright at CB (it'll be essentially the same as the Sun Bowl). We'll have Kendall, Facyson and Donovan Riley for the spring, along with walkons Nick Bush and Chris Caver. Then in the fall we'll add Terrell Edmunds, Shawn Payne and Holland Fisher, with the first two likely able to play just about anywhere in the secondary. We just gotta hope the injury bug stays away.

Yes he might be (last year he was only about 200 lb, now he's up to around 220. If that's all good weight, I think he moves to Backer). Still, so long as we don't get absolutely devoured by the injury bug this next year, I think we'll be ok in the secondary.
Not a surprise really...it was implied early on that he basically needed a miracle to qualify...still sucks though
Make travon McMillan and Greg stroman your your new corners...how hard is that.I know McMillan wanted a shot at qb..but it's not going to happen.
If this is true, I would fully expect McMillian and Stroman to start out at corner (although I don't think Stroman played a single snap at defensive back this year.) With receiver so deep, I wouldn't be shocked if guys like David Prince and Deon Newsome get moved around.
Agreed. And if we get Ford, Harrison and Phillips all at WR next year I am not sure you can keep all of them from playing straight away. WR and RB is going to be extremely interesting to watch.
I can definitely see both David Prince and Deon Newsome getting moved to corner, but I'd really like to see what McMillian can do at reciever first. Stroman is literally my size, he needs to add some weight before getting on the field.

He has spectacular athleticism, quickness, and elusiveness. But, I doubt he weighs more than 150 pounds right now. Donaldven Manning looked like Hanz and Franz compared to Stroman.

Thank goodness. I think Jefferson is going to be a big time player (I had him rated hire than Facyson after watching film on both before I saw #31 in the spring) and I don't want to blow my rep.

Last I've heard, all three were still expected to get into VT. Have not heard anything to the contrary so far. Not sure if anything has been processed officially.

The main source in the Holland Fisher forum seems to be Cequan Jefferson's tweet. I can't find another source on Fisher qualifying.
Judging from the timing of that tweet that could very well be the news.

Recruits are fun to keep up with, but there's no use in agonizing over it my friend. We look to be in good position with our remaining targets and FUMA players and that's about all you can ask for at this point. Regardless, we still have an overall excellent commit list for this year and several nice early commits for next year.
