Kickoff? I've already had several.

I'll be there

Picked some of these up at a Wegman's in NoVA a few days ago. Good stuff, love the stubby bottles!

They had a pallet of the stuff in the front of the Christiansburg Walmart last night right by the registers.

What would it take to get a six pack sent to MS?

Following... need this down in ATX, too.

I had it. Not as interesting as most Hardwood brews, but solid easy drinker

I'd drink it again, but I didn't think it was anything special personally.

so solid dad beer then?

Very Heineken-esque to my, admittedly, immature palate. I never go out of my way to drink heine, but given that a portion of sales go back to Tech I'll certainly drink Fightin Hokies lager.

Reminded me of Yuengling

It's what I think Yuengling tastes like in my head. Yuengling always tastes worse than I remember

They definitely went for mass appeal. Standard lager with a slightly larger Pilsen malt bill than most of the other American lagers.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

It is s Munich Helles and pretty true to style.
It is a style that is very approachable for just about any beer drinker. A pretty good beer if you want a beer for marketing and general appeal.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

So what kind of places are selling this stuff around the richmond/ashland area?

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

You can search for stores selling on Hardywood's website HERE.

Edit: Meant to reply to hokienator's comment above...

When's the Stick It In IPA going to debut?

Soon as you get done with the can artwork theyll start making it.

You know the ghost of Jim Weaver will ensure it's called Stick It India Pale Ale, you know, for the kids and pearl clutchers.

I think this is clever

Yes, looking forward to the event.

How did the partnership come into being. I have to think Hardywood will make a killing off this on stadium sales alone.

There is a good writeup discussing that on Tech's website here. I really like that Tech wanted to engage a brewery with strong VA ties.

Somebody on TKP with ties to the industry (Egbert maybe?) had previously alluded to the possibility of Tech partnering with other breweries for additional styles of beer.

Bought me a six pack at the Sheetz in Rocky Mount yesterday...I enjoy it.

Amateur superstar and idiot extraordinaire.

Funny story about Payoute's recruiting

Ashby had him in a headlock until he committed.

Sir, this is a Wendy's.

It was hot. It was crowded. Great turnout, long beer lines. They brought Payoute since he's an 804 guy. Hopefully big plans to feature him now that he's healthy. He did a great job and got the crowd going w/ a "Let's Go"!!!

I heard Fuente was handed a 12 pack and immediately dropped 6 just so he felt more comfortable

The Dude Abides

lol...well played

Onward and upward

Nice event, great weather and turnout. He'll of a marketing campaign by hardwood. Fuente is uncomfortable on stage, but burnop and laser did a good job of throwing him some softballs

Co-workers went, said it was awesome. They did not have the same reaction to Fuente, thought he did well. He's clearly a better one-on-one guy.
