Our O-line is on a Mission now.

Stock up boys. Going to get back to some ground churning football.

I thought they were sponsored by Blacksburg Q already?

Psh if I were on the O-line it would be my goal to get (at the very least) a "free meal on X day" sponsorship from every restaurant in town, if not an "unlimited free meal" sponsorship...no need to stick to just one!

2026 Season Challenge: TBD
Previous Challenges: Star Wars (2019), Marvel (2020), Batman (2021), Wrasslin' (2022)

Oh, absolutely. But Blacksburg Q has an Instagram post from July 24 stating "Official BBQ place of the Virginia Tech offensive line!"

Sounds like they have two official BBQ sponsors... living the dream.

If they are smart the OL will endorse each dish
Official Pulled Pork of the VT Offensive Line
Official Brisket of the VT Offensive Line

No need to stick to just one BBQ joint.

Aight now this is a sponsor I would die for and I'd love to know the details on what a sponsorship like this means? Like do they get all the mac n cheese and bbq they want?

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

I think they got Machado's as well for a weekly meal.

You're right! Bitter tweeted that Braxton got a sponsorship to take the OLine out to Macado's for a free dinner once a week.

I heard it was to allow Braxton and the O-line 'just to be there'

Is that Manny's place? ;^)

"Yes I am going to have favorites. My favorites are high production and low maintenance players, coaches, and staff." - JMFF

Are they taking up feeding responsibilities? Because that would be a pretty hefty bill.

I was at Mission BBQ when they were prepping a meal for the team. I doubt it would have all fit in the back of my Subaru Outback and I've moved from VA to Seattle in that car.

Maybe adds a new meaning to bringing the beef in the trenches. Good for those big boys.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Too much pork for just one fork.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

If this is a Southern Culture on the Skids reference I can never give you enough legs.

40 miles to Vegas and we are all started praying

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

All I want is just one more oatmeal pie.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

IHOP is missing their chance for some great marketing opportunities...

Edit: for a chain bbq restaurant Mission has some great collard greens and chopped brisket.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

yes on the greens... the brisket, not so much. Every time i've had the brisket its been extremely dry, but the same can be said for almost every bbq place I have visited. For me, unless the brisket just finished resting and was sliced just for me then there is no point in ordering.

Sliced brisket yes.

Chopped brisket is money.

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

My first meal there was lunch today and I had the chopped brisket. Not sure I was a huge fan of the memphis belle sauce. But the quantity was nice and so was the mac n cheese.

I like what they stand for, but IMO, Mission is overrated for what it costs.

"Nooooooooooo!"
~What happened?
"James Franklin to Virginia Tech...."
~Fuck me......*sigh*
"Oh my God.... They're gonna take all our recruits... like WTF bro...."

Don't be dissin' the OL sponsor in the OL sponsor thread.

It's just not proper.

I wish Washington DC had good barbeque. Nothing I have had in the city itself is great, and the places I've tried in Arlington and Alexandria are just fine. I've heard 2Fifty in MD is spectacular, and they just opened up a booth in Union Market so I have been meaning to try it.

Again, sponsorship thread. Wouldn't these type of ruminations be better placed in Yelp or one of the numerous TKP culinary threads?

Anyone who wants to sponsor our OL should be getting nothing but praise in the thread announcing it.

In other words, seek Yelp.

First off, how DARE you imply I would ever use Yelp. Google reviews all day bb.

Second, I have edited my previous statement.

Nicely done.

So does this means you get to order:
Brock's brisket
Tenuta's tri tips
Hollifield's ham
Silas's salmon
Tyrell's Turkey
Smith's sausage
All covered in JJ's BBQ Sauce?

Update: well now that Moore is starting I guess we can have the who's on first menu item of "Moore Wings".

Customer: I'd like the Moore wings
MB: Um in addition too what?
Customer: I just want the wings
MB: Oh you want more wings, how many more?

there's a few I'd probably skip out on...

Onward and upward
