People (mostly travel agencies) tried to coin the term "Blue Monday" as the most depressing day of the year. I disagree, today is the most depressing day of the year. The college football season is officially over and the mid-west/east coast is being hit with something called a "polar vortex".
I don't know about you, but that pretty much makes today (Blue Tuesday) the most depressing day of the year.
So, what will y'all be doing this off-season? Any trips planned? Are you excited to see your families/significant others with whom you've avoided social interaction with in favor of watching 9 hours of college football on Saturday?

I'm just trying to get a job in or near NOVA so I can be with my SO
Heading to Lake Placid, NY in February to watch the Olympics (in a former Olympic town) and ski/snowboard/drink beer. Other than that, Hershey Bears games for my hockey fix, and will continue to root for the Colts on Sundays.
I plan to get back to working during the week to make up for my significant lack of production these last few months.
Curling up in a corner and crying until the spring game.
Praying for another hilariously overblown Canadian scandal to pop up so I can "productively" spend all my work downtime now that football can't do it anymore.
That and going to Iceland, eventually.
Buck up Little Camper.
do you know the street value of this mountain!?!
I want my 2 dollars.
Gee, I'm really sorry your mom blew up, Ricky, guess she won't be able to eat any spicy foods for awhile
My brother's bachelor party in New Orleans for Wrestlemania XXX is going to be a high point of my offseason. Also, I think becoming a parent will make the first few months of the offseason fly right by.
/parenthood makes offseason the longest ever
congrats on future parenthood Joe! Sleep up now while you still have a chance
Congrats Joe. Right there with you - my daughter is due in March.
Son due in May.
As a proud father of a 3 and 1 year old, enjoy the time now when they aren't mobile...once they start moving, shit hits the fan (literally)
it is officially basketball season.
interesting thought....we who live in the vicinity of hooville can always tell when the focus switches to basketball in this area...as soon as LOLUVA is eliminated from contention in football, the basketball advertisements start, signalling the start of roundball....this usually occurs between the first and third week of October, btw.
it probably should start the evening of their spring game....
actually, this is about the time that they figure out that baseball is their last hope and all of the fans end up at a baseball game...except for the 5-10 odd people that get lost and go to the spring game by mistake.
A co-worker of mine, a UVA fan, was all excited about FB season. He was convinced this was the year they would beat VT and win the ACC. Obviously that dream ended 4 weeks in, and then talk started about basketball season. Needless to say, he's now talking about baseball season. I told him to keep trying, he may get one right eventually.
Lacrosse. Polo. You know - the real sports.
table tennis, pocket ball, horseshoes, hopscotch, jump-rope, pie-eating contests, holding breath the longest contest....
Highlight of my offseason will be tying the ole knot. I thought my honeymoon would end my streak of attending the Spring game but then I saw this
which made me happy!
Today marks 233 Days until the start of the 2014 CFB Season, which is a problem but we get Hockey and College Basketball while we wait.
Well lets see. Signing day in Feb, the month of March only for Bball, The Masters in April (Also when I switch from Bourbon to beer until week 1 of CFB), Spring practice reports and Spring game, Beach vacation over the summer, blowing shit up during 4th of July and BOOM, next thing you know it's time to wreck W&M! But yes, I hate the off season. My beach vacation will be about a week in June so that still leaves me the dog days of Summer with the only the 4th of July to break the boredom.
I start cheering for wvu to lose in their spring sports.
This will be a depressing spring as I won't be able to see any Hokie basketball or baseball games live
Less than a month to signing day!
Pitchers and catchers report in 36 days.
But it's just a month until women's Olympic curling!!!

God damnit. I really need to move to Russia.
Also, she was disqualified from participating in the 2014 Winter Olympics by Russia. =(
Go to Ukraine. Despite the political unrest of late, is MUCH more fun and generally safer. Plus even if you get caught up in their turmoil their army looks like this
Gee, I wish I was back in the Army...
*No, I was never in the army, but the reference doesn't work without that bit.
Maybe it's just me, but those are grown women...the guys on the side look like teenagers or stunt doubles for Rick Moranis...
it's just because they look small compared to those huge lids...
can you say "overcompensate"? I knew you could!
I'm going to attempt to succeed in school without the distractions of VT Football and Fantasy Football.
8/1 - 2014 Trailer
I've got some time
Mike London's motto for the month of December.
Packing up the wife and kids and moving from NoVa to Colorado next month. I'm already lamenting how much more difficult it will be to casually watch VT football and basketball on TV and get back for games.
At least I still have TKP and ESPN3 to help make the transition smoother.
WatchESPN has been a lifesaver for me out here in Texas since it's all SEC and Big 12 garbage all day Saturday.
