3* DL Malachi Madison commits to the Hokies!

There was a time in early September defensive lineman Malachi Madison was heading to UCF, and he all but told the coaching staff that.

However, the more he thought about his fit at Virginia Tech, and the more he spoke with his coach at Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale, the more the Hokies felt like the right option.

So in late September the 6-foot-3, 310-pound defensive lineman committed to Virginia Tech, and he announced his decision today.

"I decided to commit to Virginia Tech," he said. "I love the area. It was like family when I went down there. It's the bond I have the recruits going there.

"You have a running back I played against since little league, Ramon Brown, and you have Rashaud Pernell from Highland Springs (Va.) committed there. When I played in Georgia, the quarterback (Devin Farrell) at (Alpharetta, Ga.) Milton, we played against them. And there is also Gunner (Givens)."
