So, I know we all hold a large amount of disdain for ESPN's college football reporting, but I find their NFL stuff to be quite good. The Redskins blogger was talking about draft needs today, and listed 3 DBs the Redskins may be looking at this year (taking into acocunt their lack of a first rounder). These 3 were:
Baylor's Ahmad Dixon (DS), Ohio State's Bradley Roby* (DC), Virginia Tech's Kyle Fuller
The Redskins could use some Fuller magic. I'd be so excited.

This made me really excited, and then I remembered it's the Redskins, and I'd hate for Ky. Fuller to have to be on such a drama-filled team/town.
And I'm a Redskins fan.
Please no.
1. I hate the Redskins.
2. The Redskins suck.
3. They will ruin him.
4. For the sake of all things Hokie, NEVER schedule a VT Game at FedEx Field again.
I can't even argue with any of this except for 1.
Because I love the Redskins, but man they're a terrible franchise right now.
Worst. Venue. Ever.
The parking sucks. I understand all places have horrible (or so) parking, but even after a concert at Fed Ex, the parking lots suck.
Agreed, but mainly my motive is because we always lose in heartbreaking fashion there.
Yes, this too.
I was amazed at how bad the traffic was to get to the stadium and then to leave after.
FedEx is horrible at getting people in and out - apparently they have not figured out that they have to deal with this 10 times during the year on Sundays for Football games, and multiple more times for concerts and other events.
They know but unfortunately there isn't much they can do about it. The stadium is the one debacle with the team that you cant blame Snyder for, as Jack Kent Cooke negotiated all that. The Skins are stuck there until the 2027 season barring a significant buyout.
...at which point they will move to National Harbor.
God I hope not, that place is already a disaster and the casino isn't even built yet....and once again doesn't have solid metro access. The next stadium should have one or two dedicated Metro stations either in or just outside of it.
Which is why the Linc works so well at getting people in and out easily.. good point.
Agreed, but there is a lot of $$ that wants to pull it over there. Personally I think they should get the stadium back in the city and stop messing around with the suburbs.
Demo RFK, rebuild there. Only problem is DC won't let them come back until they change the team name.
Given current events the Washington Congressionals would be solid. Neither one of them can get anything worthwhile done!
Note: No need to start a political discussion, this is for satirical means only...
This, please. I get kicked out every time. =(
Amen to all three of these.
Id love for the Steelers to sign him. Black and gold need some youth, and Lunch Pail Defense is already a common thing for us Pittsburgh fans to hear.
Also, go Pens, ovi sucks
Yes, exactly on all counts. Except maybe for the Pens stuff, not much of a hockey fan.
Ugh... that game was heartbreaking.
Although it's a shame a player who "sucks" could get the stick slashed right out of his hands, and pick it back up just in time to score a goal off a wicked shot.
And break his stick twice in like the final 60 seconds of the game when down by 1 goal...
As a redskin fan, I would love to have Kyle. He could line up anywhere in the secondary.
Kyle Fuller would be great for the Redskins.
The Redskins would not be great for Kyle Fuller.
How so? They desperately need DB help and Fuller brings that. He could be a stabalizing force by being a leader on and off the field. The Skins need him, the fanbase could use a model player, and he could start in the NFL right away. Its an ideal situation, although the team is a circus, Darrel Green was an icon here.
Re-read what he wrote:
Kyle Fuller would be great for the Redskins, meaning the Redskins would benefit from having Kyle Fuller.
The Redskins would not be great for Kyle Fuller, meaning that Kyle Fuller would probably benefit more by being on a different team.
He's not wrong, you know.
^^^^^^
I still don't get why. There are worse teams in the NFL to be a part of , at least he would be a featured player, Snyder has the bank account to make his life much better when he outplays his contract, and the odds are good that the NFC east will be up for grabs, which means playoff potential every year (because there are no dominant teams).
Other than the risk of playing on the shittiest field in the NFL the other things are not bad for his career.
And I am not even a Skins fan. But if they have more players like Kyle, I might be.
I say this as a Skins fan: The Redskins take great players and make them mediocre ones. I don't know why, I don't know how, but it's like a disease. Santana Moss, Jeremiah Trotter, Carlos Rogers, among many others were much better on other teams than when they were in Washington. I wouldn't want that to happen to Kyle as well.
So you're saying theyre the professional version of loluva?
Without the Zima, yes.
I'm not sure where you're seeing that Santana Moss was better on the Jets than with the Redskins? He's had some great years in Washington for a guy of his size, multiple 1000+ receiving seasons.
Carlos Rogers had himself one good year when he left Washington, and now is playing at his normal level in San Francisco (i.e., football comes floating down from the heavens as a gift from above, hits his hands as softly as a feather, and he drops it.)
Santana was good in Washington, better in New York. Carlos left the Redskins and promptly made a Pro Bowl.
See above, "one good year" for Carlos.
And the numbers show that Moss had one great year in New York, with the rest mediocre. While in Washington, he had three very good years.
Moss has been great in DC. Rogers was great when we had Ryan Clark and Sean Taylor, RIP. Letting Ryan Clark go to the Steelers was one of the worst personnel moves we've ever made. The entire secondardy is still suffering from those losses. If we still had Clark, with DHall, the other safety and CB spots could be must more functional, even with our current personnel.
But I want Kyle to have a successful NFL career...
#Ravensforfuller
Huge Redskins fan here, would hate to see Fuller's career wasted in DC.
Well, they resurrected DHall's career - ATL cut DHall only to be saved by Redskins (am I allowed to say Redskins anymore?)
Incorrect. Hall left ATL for a mega contract in Oakland. Didn't work out so he went to DC.
Ahh, yes - forgot about OAK. Thanks for correcting!
ATL > Picked up by OAK > Massive Contract > Cut 8 games in > Washington.
Not a problem compadre. BTW, did you know that if you cut the 4 and V from your username it appears as PISU and you could do a play on phrases such as PISONU or PISONDAU? Just a little randomness. Carry on.
Nah Panthers need a DB. Draft Kyle and we are set.
Y'know, the Giants have been taking a chance on Hokies the last few years... Hosley and Ky Fuller!
Those chances haven't really paid off.
Whattayatalkinabout?
Hosely is second on the depth chart at Punt Return and CB on a team that hasn't been hit by the injury bug.
He's played 23 games the past 2 seasons and started 7. That's not too bad for a second year guy that left college early.
I am a Rams fan so I love the Redskins sucking, sorry guys.
Special thanks to the Redskins for trading 3 first round picks to the Rams...and then sucking.
Please, Redskins, don't pick Fuller.
Ya know, this gif of Emily Blunt is kinda giving me a boner.
That's Felicia Day
Then she must've been the one to downvote me for getting her name wrong.
Downvotes....
Good. The skins need to replace their entire secondary
I think Wilson, Amerson and Meriweather (though dirty at times and will likely have to retire from the NFL after sustaining a million concussions before 2017) have bright futures (EXCEPTION: Meriweather if he doesn't change previously stated playing style) and their best games/seasons ahead of them. DHall just seems far too past his prime to be the #2 CB in any good secondary. I would love a Fuller, especially a great cover guy and tackler like Kyle.
Are you kidding me!? Wasn't it DGreen that specifically said "DHall should be brought back next season"? Straight from the HOFrs mouth. In fact, I would argue that he was one of the lone bright spots on that secondary this past season. DHall for HOF!
I don't know about HOF but he definitely played at a Pro Bowl level this year. Shut down all the #1 receivers he went up against. Then there was Wilson on the other side that played like he had blinders on all year.
Josh Wilson should not be starting in the nfl for any team.
Straight up needs to be shown the door. Too many times beat like a dead horse for 20+ yards or a score.
Except for d hall and amerson, merriwewther is ok at times, but doughty and Wilson gotta go.
Wilson is past his prime, and in his prime he was a 2nd or 3rd corner. Merriweather is a clown who thinks that because he's undersized he has to tackle ("Intimidate") people by making himself into a small missile.
Amerson has upside, but also a lot more learning to do.
The Redskins secondary has been patched together with duct tape and has-beens, for the most part. That's what happens when you lose 18 million dollars for two years.
The Redskins . has been patched together with duct tape and has beens.....no need to lower it down to the secondary. It started at the coaches and worked its way down.
Neither a Redskin fan nor hater. But I'd have a hard time rooting against any team that has a Fuller on it. If that team also happens to have 4 other Hokies (D Hall, Josh Morgan, Will Montgomery, and D Tapp) I am pretty sure by law every VT fan has to kinda of pull for them, at least a little bit.
Morgan's gone I believe. If they could fire Dan Snyder and draft Fuller, that would be a perfect world for this long-suffering Skins fan.
He was there this year.
Fire the owner? Now that would be something
This made me think of this for some reason:
I root for all of the Hokies on the Redskins roster to play well enough to earn a contract elsewhere, but for the Skins to lose.
Nope....I root for them to play well individually...but all bets are off once they are in the NFL.
I don't root for a rival or a hated team just because a Hokie is on it.
F the Skins and F Dan Snyder...
For instance, Tyrod is one of my favorite Hokies ever, but UVA will win a national championship before I ever even consider rooting for the Ravens.
For the love of all that is Holy do not let another Hokie go to the Redskins ever.
On the other hand, the Cowboys could really use Hopkins and Gayle
As if I needed another reason to hate the cowboys, but look at how they wasted Danny Coale.
He broke his foot and lost reps. It sucks he couldn't get worked in but when you are injured it is hard.
Especially if you get injured in your rookie and second season. He has the skills and determination, he just got dealt a shitty hand. Hopefully he has signed with a lesser league, shows off, and gets signed back into the NFL. It's probably his best bet with the talent at receiver that comes out of college that can start immediately.
Lots of hate for the skins here. I'm pretty sure they employ more Hokies than most if not all other franchises...
After the debacle that was the 2013 season, the media painted a very negative picture of us as an organization.
It really shouldn't matter where Kyle goes. I just want to see him get drafted, get contract, and play.
Deangelo hall has done really good for himself there w Washington, I mean d hall, David amerson and Kyle fuller in the secondary sounds amazing to me.
Huge Redskins fan here. I would love to see Kyle there. An entire defense of lunchpailers + Brian Orakpo would make me happy enough to prance around the farm.
Can we have a GIF of that "prance around the farm" action? I'm having a little trouble visualizing HOAT outdoors without his treadmill.
