Me, too.

Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling that EA is going to screw this up and focus exclusively on online play to capitalize on microtransactions. They've absolutely screwed up single player for every other sports franchise they run, so I have little faith in this one.

I hope they prove me wrong.

Shit. Way to be a Debbie downer but you're probably right, unfortunately. Old school ncaa football is one of my favorite video games of all time. Madden is awful, and not just because I don't care about the teams as much.

I absolutely think they can make a great game on this one that gives us everything we wanted and more from the previous iteration of the franchise. They could do so much right now with recruiting, the portal, conference realignment, hell, they could even go into apparel deals and have 10-15 baked in templates per designer that you can use for uniforms. And they could go full on Create-a-stadium like MLB The Show did this past year. Hell, they could take the facility improvements from the F1 franchise they own and move that over to influence player development and recruiting ease in this series for added effect.

But... I don't have faith they will. I think they'll give us a half baked single player campaign that is little more than a copy/paste of the Madden experience with a simplified recruiting engine on top of it rather than the draft, and call it a day. Everything else will be about the Online Experience and trying to squeeze as much money out of everyone as possible. Because its EA Games and they have a long, long history of doing just that.

EA no longer makes good games.

Most recent debacle = Battlefield 2042

Games can cash out on micro transactions and release garbage by simply recycling old stuff.

"Nooooooooooo!"
~What happened?
"James Franklin to Virginia Tech...."
~Fuck me......*sigh*
"Oh my God.... They're gonna take all our recruits... like WTF bro...."

Sadly, that's just standard for sports games nowadays. It's not just an EA thing. 2k has ruined their NBA games by turning them into massive microtransaction factories. NBA 2k was the gold standard for sports game authenticity but the last 3 to 4 years, its all in your face mircotransactions and product placement ads. You can still play the core game and franchise mode, but you're still gonna have to wade through some shit to get there. Just navigating the menus to get there is constant "BUY THIS! BUY THAT!"

What I'm worried most about with the new college game is it being bare bones. I'm prepared for the microtransaction thing, but with this being a new game in basically 10 years and also on newer consoles (3 years old), I won't be surprised at all if the game is missing a lot of features the old ones had. I can easily see the studio suits saying "It's been 10 years. They are gonna buy whatever crap we put out. Don't focus too hard on this". As much as I want to play a new college football game, I think I might wait for the year 2 or 3 release. I've waited this long, what's another year or two?

Hell yeah im gonna win like, five national championships with Air Force!

YES! I used to love picking Navy, and switching them out with Maryland in the ACC. I beat UVA by 75. It was glorious.

I wish they allowed for actual conference realignment and not just swapping teams. Or they might have done that in some of the later versions. I think the last one I actually played was NCAA 11.

NCAA 12 and on allowed for true realignment. You could reduce or increase the number of teams in each conference. You could even change the BCS bowl tie-ins for each conference. I made a couple dynasties with a pre-1992 alignment where there were no conference championship games. Then you can also max out and do 16-team super conferences if you would like.

Of course I missed that by one year.

I did Promotion/Relegation in one of my dynasties. Made it pretty fun.

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

Please EA. don't focus on only ultimate team and actually make the game enjoyable

I just took Minnesota to 19 national championships recently, before jumping ship to USC to revive it's status as a blue blood

assuming this is going to be exclusive on Xbox and PlayStation. If so then I have my one and only motivation to buy one.

All the coaching carousel madness got me fired up and I just started out as the OC at Akron, gonna try to climb the ranks to VT.

I really hope they keep team builder because I have a weird dream of making Roanoke College a Sun Belt football powerhouse.

[incoherent gobbling noises]

maybe some dreams you should keep to yourself /s

ughhh is it spring 23 yetttt

Hopefully they have an entirely different development team than the Madden series which IMHO has gone heavily downhill in terms of Gameplay.

Haven't played Madden regularly for a while, but son is now into gaming and bought Madden 22 for his birthday.

'22 has so many pre-rendered animations that the actual football action is choppy and incredibly frustrating. Then there is the recurrent sideline animation with the "hunchback," assistant coach it looks like zero quality control was put in. Its so bad that I try to change the subject when he asks me to play with him, lol.

I dusted off a copy of '15 (last time I played) and from a pure gameplay standpoint it was significantly better, at least smooth and consistently responsive to control inputs.

You can turn off the cut scenes, but there are tons of bugs in it. Crazy buggy for a game that really doesn't change year in year out.

Honestly if any of the recent Madden franchise games are a hint I'm sure it will in fact be ass.

My hopes aren't very high for this game, but still really excited to see it.

I've been playing NCAA 14 off and on for the past 8 years and still really enjoy the gameplay.

Really wish EA would just update the graphics, the coaching carousel and add the transfer portal, but they'll probably make it a bare bones Dynasty with UT and crappy Madden gameplay.

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?
