I always surround myself with great family and friends so to be able to have them in my back yard and they will come and watch me, and support me, means everything to me. Not only that, it's my community.

Like I said, rural southwest Virginia, everybody is a Tech fan. All my teachers have season tickets to football up at Tech. I want to be a hometown hero."

The former staff at Virginia Tech did not recruit Meadows hard, but he quickly became a priority for assistant JC Price when he was an interim coach, and for Pry.

"Coach Pry recruited me to Penn State when he was there, and coach Price recruited me to Marshall during my freshman year when he was there," Meadows said. "I've always had a good connection with them. I always kept in touch with them."

Tells you so much about what was wrong here. Earlier in the article, he said it was a dream to play at VT, yet our former Staff was asleep at the wheel.

While losing a few of our verbals to other places has definitely been disappointing today, I have no doubt that Pry has a much, much better plan going forward than Fuente ever did.

My theory on why the heck a standout recruit from Tech's backyard wasn't originally committed to Tech confirmed.

So happy that this guy is a Hokie and is happy to be a Hokie. He seems like he's going to be a great advocate for future recruiting too.

Flip's for days

I told him I’d crawl on my hands and knees to be the DL coach at Virginia Tech. Now, all of a sudden, I’m sitting in this chair and I told him I’d still crawl on my hands and knees to work here. I just want to be here.
