Haven't seen a thread posted yet. I watched the first 2 episodes last night. I'll say, I have enjoyed all the Disney+ spin-off series so far, Loki being my favorite so far.
I really liked the trailer for the Hawkeye series but wasn't entirely pleased with the first couple episodes. Anybody familiar with the comics that can help me get excited about what's to come with the series?

Haven't read the Hawkeye comics but I watched the two episodes this morning and appreciated them.
Much better than F&WS so far, and i liked Wandavision a little better than Loki just bc I appreciated there being a lot of wtfness about it at the start.
Things I liked about Hawkeye: fills in more of what happened during the blip, Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner are incredible actors and they have great chemistry, Steinfeld is a great Kate Bishop, there was just enough humor bro, an alternate perspective of a family rebuilding post-blip, the alternate perspective of chitauri invasion of New York, and the sneaky commentary of how showbiz embellishes true stories for marketing/entertainment purposes.
That said, stepdad is almost certainly not a bad guy bc he's being positioned way too obviously as one. Mom-daughter dynamic is an interesting one to keep an eye on
I'm not sure if he's bad or not, but I am sure (fairly sure at least), they are building towards Kingpin based on the end of episode 2. Maybe he works for him.
I want an avengers musical and feel robbed we don't have one, some one call Lin-Manuel!
I rewatched the musics scene like 5 times. Giggled over and over.
I enjoyed it. And, it brought back the street level crime angle, which I hope gives us the window to bring back Daredevil and Kingpin. Echo (the leader of the Tracksuit Draculas) has ties to Kingpin in the comics, and Charlie Cox and Vincent D'onfrio are rumored to return to the MCU.
confirmed to be returning

Enjoyed them, lmao at the larping part
Finally got to watch the first two episodes today. It was just far enough off from the Fraction run of Hawkeye to annoy me, but also I adore the Fraction run of Hawkeye and have read it multiple times over so 🤷♀️
I was excited to see Grills but I hope he doesn't have the same story as the comics. And Lucky/pizza dog is awesome 😁
Also if I don't get Clint saying "aw coffee no" at least once I'm gonna lose my shit
Kingpin, fuck yeah! Give me some Daredevil and Punisher too please!
Charlie Cox had been confirmed as returning too the mcu as Daredevil. Vince as kingpin too.
Wonder if they'll bring back our Foggy
I was pretty meh about this show until the last two episodes...gimme more Yelena and Kingpin!!!! Glad they got Vincent D' Onofrio back.
Yelena*
Damn auto correct...fixed, much obliged
One word. Kingpin. It's on like donkey Kong.
Yuuuup. Rewatching Daredevil on Netflix right now!
Yelana and the hot sauce is exactly how every meal with one of my exes went.
It's how I treat my kids leftovers. Lol
It starts off her lying to you about the amount of weapons she has on her person? I can see why that would be an ex. /s
Hawkeye, depending on how it ends, is on track on knock off Loki for my favorite Marvel show so far. I totally didn't expect that going in since I've never been all that into the Hawkeye character. Renner and Steinfeld have fantastic chemistry together. Adding Florence Pugh to the mix too? Perfection. I could watch Kate and Yelena scenes all day.
Show has been great and really enjoying it. But... can you really just traipse around NYC with a bow and quiver of arrows that nonchalantly???
Open carry my man
Thank you!
All the cops are apparently larpers.
Apparently when you are an Avenger you can do WTF you want.
cant bring myself to watch it. too much of a stretch for the franchise but was more impressed than i thought was going to be with spiderman.
(SPOILERS FOR IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE FINALE)
Fun finale. Must have killed about about 200 Tracksuits, bro. I really dug this show. I still think Loki is the best so far, but this was really good. I hope it gets another season because Renner and Steinfeld make a really fun pair (as does Pugh and Steinfeld). Also, there's no way I'm buying Kingpin is actually dead. Considering Maya (Echo) is getting her own show, he's gotta be back someway. What's the point of her having a show if he's not?
did they kill them? Looked like they were mostly all knocked out.
Agree, Pugh and Steinfeld were great together, as was Renner with both. Would watch more of them together.
Some of them had arrows through the chest so I'm gonna assume they died. Same with the ones that were in explosions. And depending on how long Pym particles last, I'm gonna guess two of them became owl food.
They didn't kill off the Kingpin. In the comics he was blinded in the comic this was based off of. This was a weird way of doing it but he isn't dead.
Yes I think the Eye To Eye comment was foreshadowing
I'm... Really disappointed with what they did to kingpin. He doesn't feel like a threat on this show AT ALL.
Show didn't seem to be going for menacing psychopath like in Punisher, it was fairly whimsical throughout so I took it as Kingpin lite to fit the tone.
Agreed. Needs to be distant. In control. Bigger in the power dynamic. This made him more Sonny Black and less Lucky Lucianao.
The post credit scene was.... Painful. Absolutely painful.
My wife says she would pay to go see it.
I would not.
And I watched the whole thing, like the sucker I am, hoping there would be something worthwhile
So comic nerds what is the significance of the #19 agent of shield? Also what did I miss in this credit scene as I know there had to be something more to it than just bad singing. Finally WTF do you bring Kingpin back for one episode just to kill him? Very bizarre yet entertaining finale.
Call sign for Mockingbird I think. Bobbi Morse (Adrienne Palacki in Agents of Shield)
Yeah, its this. It appears they are going to make Linda Cardellini's character (Laura) the MCU version of Mockingbird. Agents of Shield isn't canon (I don't think) so the character traits they are setting Laura up with fit. In the comics, Mockingbird was once married to Hawkeye so there's a checkbox for Laura being the new Mockingbird. And during a few scenes between her and Clint and its apparent they've worked together before thru Shield. And so in the finale we see the watch they've been after is Agent 19's watch. The show leads you to believe its Laura's watch. Now why Kingpin or anyone else at the auction would want the watch to begin with isn't really made all that clear. If it was, I missed it.
The only show produced by Marvel Television that I'm counting as official MCU canon is Agent Carter.
The others (SHIELD and the Netflix shows) are part of the multiverse. SHIELD is too messy to try to fit with the movies anymore (it was bad enough that they strained to connect to Age of Ultron, but by Infinity War, it was completely broken). I gave up on the Netflix shows about halfway through, so maybe they could still fit with the movies, but it would be a total slog to get through those again.
no way he is dead
Exactly, rule #1 is if you don't see a body, they ain't dead.
Just a shame that Netflix basically burned through the best Daredevil content (Kingpin must Die, the Hand in Frank Miller's run, Born Again, and the Daredevil Punisher rooftop debate.) Charlie Cox did a terrific job even though the Hand stuff lost me in execution. The Kingpin and Punisher interactions were elite.
apparently there was an alternate ending and deleted scenes. And DD was meant to cameo but they couldn't get Charlie Cox to the location.
