Congrats, Xayvion!
Let's GO!
HOKIES!
Go Hokies! Welcome home Xayvion!

33 touchdowns in one season? I'll take some of that! Welcome home Xayvion!
Oof. I remember that play and yelling at the TV as he fell into the endzone. I thought that was going to be the beginning of the end for the G-men as it gave Brady just enough time to do his thing. Thank goodness I was wrong.
That cut back ๐ณ
And there is the WR we wanted for the class.
Hell yeah. The good news for him is that there's going to be plenty of opportunity for a young wide receiver that wants to make a splash next season.
33 TD's in one season? Good grief thats insane LETS GO FAM
I recall Darren Evans being a lowly 3-star RB when we recruited him but he had set a state record (or similar) for TDs in one season with like 35! Could have been more, my memory sucks. My point is that obviously a guy with those numbers has a nose for the goal line, and some intangibles that cannot be taught. I have a feeling Zay Bradshaw will prove to be as valuable an asset for VT as Evans was.
I wouldn't mind our RBs replicating Evans' performance against Maryland.
Darren Evans' high school stats were insane. From HokieSports:
61 TDS his senior year. Silly me and my feeble recollection of 35. ๐ ๐ ๐
May have been thinking of Lee Suggs. I think he had around 35 for some reason. That number sticks in my head too.
In probably 8-10 games...
I think the narrative of these prospects that weren't good and we turned them into great is so overdone. Evan's was a good prospect and arguably great - just wasn't consensus due to competition he played against.
Frank sold the narrative well, but the reality was they found very good players who had great potential that continued to improve and/or were slightly underrated (not hugely though)
Evans running style reminds me of the way most Wisconsin running backs play
Seems like a playmaker out of the slot. We needed a guy like this bad, especially with Tayvion transferring. There will be a LOT of opportunities for the guys in our WR room, Holloway and Bradshaw, and anyone who get from the portal before next season. There are multiple starting spots on this offense up for grabs. I'm excited to see who steps up to claim them.
Edit: After watching his film, thinking about the pedigree, and seeing the passion in his announcement to represent VT on the field I'm starting to get a really good gut feeling about how he will turn out for us.
I went and watched the replay of his commitment on instagram and man, it was given away that he was signing with us well before he actually said it, but that kid was emotional. You could tell all the nice things that were said meant a lot to him.
You got a link to that video?
He starts talking about halfway in
Teachers and coaches talk first. You can see VT and Hokies bracelets on his arm and a maroon shirt underneath his hoodie haha. Probably should've put it away first if it was a super reveal.
Ahmad also did a good job of helping Xayvion get through it. Like encouraging words and coached him a little bit, told him to take a breath and all that. It was good to see.
That's fun. A lot of love in that room. He's a young man in development, and I look forward to see him grow into an adult.
F as an actor, A+ as a new Hokie!
Yes, that was a good reveal ceremony, and I look forward to seeing him on the field for VT!
Has anyone (HokiesFB etc.) cross posted this for those of us not on the 'Gram?
Link or it didn't happen.
-or-
Link, don't tease.
Just posted to the first person that requested. https://www.instagram.com/p/CXmALmVpIAx/
Cool. Thanks.
Which one is Bradshaw?

Hokies!
Offers from ND, Cinci, and most other places that he visited.
yea looks like he had a pretty good offer list
Composite score of .8516, but 247 rates him as an 87 and #20 in VA. I like it.
Who says SWVa isn't a recruiting hotbed?
Graham G-Men are churning out some football players!
Dna is powerful. Instinct baby. I like this.
We lose a Tayvion, gain a Xayvion...X>T cause X gon' give it to ya

Worth more points in Scrabble, so clearly the superior prospect

Our stadium should play this song every time he scores
A few Graham and Bluefield folks have popped up on here the last couple of days. I'm speaking on behalf of all them when I say:
AHHHHHHHH! LETS GOOOOOOO! SWVA STAND UP! TEAR 'EM UP TEAR 'EM UP GMEN!
Thank you all for letting me get that out of the way. Welcome aboard, Zay!
Anybody know the "We're the boys from Longshop" cheer? I'd share but too NSFW to post.
I remember my dad and uncles talking about playing Marion HS and yelling a cheer that went something like Rooty toot toot, we are the boys from the Institute!
Keep going down past Price's Fork toward the river and you'll hit Longshop and McCoy. Good people there. Lots of Blacksburg HS athletes over the years. It starts, #Rickety rah rickety ram, mf gd.....some other profanity laced verses ending in ....we're the boys from Longshop, yea team! We always had a good time hearing and performing it.
Welcome home, Mr. Bradshaw and to your Father I say GO G-MEN!
I like how these new coaches are battling for all recruits. It still irks me how the previous regime missed out on Dazz Newsome
Fast. Very fast. You can't coach speed. I like him a lot.
Gunner, Benji, Mansoor, Malachi, and now a Xayvion. This class's name game is absolutely on point.
And all coached by one-syllable named coaches.
You have to love the balance.
Recruiting pitch - we are much more efficient in saying our coached names.
Hopefully we land Daequan and Xavier too
Man I loved that announcement video. I'll take guys like this all day long. Because they WANT to come to Blacksburg. Makes me want to be there for next Fall's first home game so I can see all of them and the coaches experience their first Lane Stadium game day entrance.
Seems like one of those (rare) 3* croots that might actually be a 5*. If he reaches his potential he could be one of those guys that makes the highlight reels and helps elevate the program.
๐โถ๏ธr
Listened to a clip of TSL podcast and they were saying he probably would be at least a 4* if he played in Richmond, 757 or NOVA.
Sure, but he'll be playing in Blacksburg.
