I wish the NFL draft were tomorrow...just so someone could pick Logan, announce what position he'll play, and then I'll hope we never have to hear this discussion on this site again.
Even though that's probably just a pipe dream...

Not a Logan basher at all... I was in his corner all season. My argument was always that if the coaches had any faith in Leal to run our offense any better, he would have been starting. I figured Logan at QB was our best shot to win and I never wavered from that opinion. However, at the next level, Logan may do better as a tight end, especially considering Mike O'Cain apparently never taught him a goddamned thing at QB.

Wasn't trying to call you out as a Logan basher, just commenting on the likelihood of the ensuing discussion featuring people bashing Logan, followed by people bashing those Logan bashers, followed by people supporting the Logan bashers from the Logan basher bashers, et al.

Just because someone might have a criticism of someone or something does not make them a "basher" of it. Maybe, just maybe, some people actually know what they're talking about while criticizing, and have reasoning to back it up. Now, if they're going off endlessly without even bothering to defend these critiques, yes, they're a basher, but the barbs directed at people for simply having an opinion that differs from your own is just way over the top.
Come on, (and macraw, this is not directed at you) this whole labeling of "bashers", "True Hokies", "PATT", "NATT" etc... leave that shit on TSL. Can't we just have civil, yet hilarious conversations without devolving the whole thing into a barb-fest of easily thrown insults to try and silence others?

I'm not really trying to call anyone in particular a "basher" or whatever. I was trying to use sarcastica to say that I'm tired of how these types of conversations would always devolve into camps of Leal "Truthers", and then Logan "supporters" bashing the Truthers, and on and on and on. Not saying that everyone that participated in these conversations fell into one of these categories (far from it), but there was a vocal portion who did.
But, hopefully that is behind us, now that Logan is on to better things.

1) Boyd somehow escaped wearing those crazy cleats. Maybe he "lost" them
2) Thomas has boats, not feet. Seriously they are twice as long as that coach in the middle
3) This picture is taken at a perspective whereby the people in the background should be noticeably smaller, yet LT is clearly the biggest and tallest.
Note on Bitter's article:
1) never in my life have I heard of the VASID University Division Football Team
2) Only AB can cite Bleacher Report as a credible source and get away with it. Let's not use that as open license to do so on TKP threads.

I'm loathe to credit Bleacher Report for anything (pretty much anything with a slideshow), but the company has invested quite a bit of money into hiring legitimate guys to cover their major stuff. And I believe this NFL draft guy is one of them.

Andy, what exactly are Matt Miller's credentials that make him a "legitimate guy"? As near as I can tell, he does claim that he is "utilized" by NFL, CFL & AFL teams, although in what capacity he doesn't mention (my guess is as a writer, not a talent scout, or he would mention it). It doesn't appear that he ever actually played football, but he was a secondary and special teams coordinator for, get this, the Joplin Crusaders of the Central Football League (which is apparently the Midwest's premier adult amateur football league!). And he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night...
And when you refer to "NFL guy" are you referring to Matt Miller or someone else?
I'm being critical here because IMO these guys have no more credibility than your next door neighbor when it comes to evaluating talent and their comments should be put in the proper context.

I'm saying more legitimacy than the college kid who earns no money and just writes clickbait top 10 lists with purposefully off-the-wall orders to garner attention. Which has pretty much been the Bleacher Report M.O.
When I say "legitimate," I just mean in terms of being like the rest of the scouts for websites all over. Obviously it's not an exact science or we wouldn't see scouts and teams be mind-blowingly wrong on some of these prospects.

He's the draft analyst for Bleacher Report. To me, that makes him an inferior version of Todd McShay or Mel Kiper...and we all know what we think about them.

Heres the thing. Yes Bleacher Report has been historically bad and random dudes make slideshows about random things with no credibility. But as Andy says they have been putting resources into legitimate sources. There are a couple lead writers they have hired that in my opinion are head and shoulders better than a lot of the writers that ESPN has. I mean honestly, have you read Heather Dinich.... Michael Felder, Barrett Sallee, and Adam Kramer are all phenomenal reads and if you are not following them on twitter you are really doing yourself a disservice.

That's great that they've hired some "Pro writers", but they are just that...professional writers. People that give you something to read -- hopefully in an compelling way.
My gripe is Andy referring to them as "Pro Scouts". This implies that these people have talent evaluation opinions that are more than that of the man on the street and are meaningful to NFL teams -- and thus an accurate barometer of a player's perceived strength's and weaknesses by those who may be paying his salary in a few months.

Im really interested to see how Logan performs in the game this weekend. While its true there has been a lack of talent around him the past two years, hopefully he can play "lights out" this Saturday since he actually could have some help from the other skilled players.
This will be a good opportunity for him to silence a lot of his critics....

His non-development issues were fired last year. Logan supposedly helped out in the recruitment of Ford by telling Ford during a visit that he has learned more in one season under Loeffler than in three years under O'Cain.

I cringed so badly but knew it was true on LT3's development.
Kudos and little known fact, Andy Bitter and I are twins!

Completely off topic, and it may have always been there, but is that the Thankskilling Turkey???
Any thoughts on Logan making it in the NFL at another position? Tight End maybe?
He's a day 2 pick as a quarterback. Someone will reach. Guarantee it.
I could see it as maybe a Day 2 QB project.
But that said, if someone drafts him with the intentions of having him play TE, he could have a very long and very successful career.

Oh no, not this again...

I hate the terminology "______ basher"

All good points.

A couple of things I notice from that CBS article
1) Boyd somehow escaped wearing those crazy cleats. Maybe he "lost" them
2) Thomas has boats, not feet. Seriously they are twice as long as that coach in the middle

No worries. I didn't know that but if you're shilling it, I'm buying it.
See, there's a reason why we trust what you'll post. You know more of the background and can pick and choose.

I had my concerns with Mike O'Cain when he inferred that one of the most prominent QB gurus on earth had broken Logan Thomas.
Is anyone surprised by this? We have 3 years of game film on Thomas. Every NFL team already knows exactly what they're getting at this point.
The quote about not developing him is just embarrassing for VT. I hope we see continual improvement from whomever starts next year.
